Jovenel Moïses term as p[resident ran through mid 2022. So he was not overstaying his term. The elections for parliament seem to have been a problem. The reason might be simple. There is a drug and human trafficking problem and those parties might have wanted him gone. They might have wanted him gone and on the spur of the moment said "Hey watch this; hold my beer."
