Two Iranian Navy Ships Have Entered The English Channel

Warzone/The Drive: Iranian Navy Ships Enter The English Channel

The sea base ship Makran and Iran’s most advanced frigate are supposedly headed for the Baltic Sea.

In a surprising turn of events, a pair of warships from the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, or IRIN have broken out of the Atlantic and headed into the English Channel, where they were noted today. The final destination of the two vessels, the “sea base ship” Makran and the frigate Sahand, Iran’s most modern warship, is unclear, but their passage would conform with previous reports that they are headed to the Russian port of St. Petersburg for the naval parade that takes place there later this month.

Satellite photographs first indicated that the Iranian warships were headed toward the English Channel before their presence in these waters was confirmed by data on MarineTraffic, an aggregator that provides real-time transponder information on ship movements.

Update: Two Iranian Warships Spotted Near English Channel (USNI News)

WNU Editor: A Russian radio program that I listen to said yesterday that these two Iranian warships are heading to the Baltic Sea (i.e. St. Petersburg, Russia). Judging by the path that these ships are taking, it looks like that is the case. But what I am wondering about is that the IRINS Makran (Iran's largest warship) appears to be carrying a heavy load. So what is their cargo?

Russia dealing with the Iranians is reason enough to sanction or give Russia the cold shoulder. The election BS is probably just that BS made up. The Russians working with the Iranians is justification enough for war.

Your average liberal turkey has no idea what freeboard is or what it means.

One more thing. Sending new patrol boats to Venezuela, if that is indeed what the Iranians are doing is a fool's errand. The fate of the Socialist Republic has already been decided. The Iranians would have been better off bringing pig carcasses in a refrigerated carrier to Venezuela.

In which case they could sailed around the Cap e of Good Hope, through the Panama Canal, around Australia, through the Bering Straight and docked at Murmask in December.

It is not like shipping it from Iran across the Caspian Sea to Astrakhan and on to Volgograd would be any shorter. Besides the Israelis would intercept any shipment transiting the Caspian sea form their super secret Ice Station Zebra bases in Azerbaijan.
