Defense News: US government clears $750 million artillery sale to Taiwan
MELBOURNE, Australia – The U.S. State Department has cleared the sale of self-propelled howitzers and GPS-guided kits for artillery shells to Taiwan, marking the first such approval for the country’s self-ruling by the Biden administration.
The Defense Security and Cooperation Agency, or DSCA, announced the approval on Wednesday afternoon for Taiwan to acquire 40 M-109A6 Paladin 155mm self-propelled howitzers with associated equipment and support.
The estimated cost of the potential sale is $750 million.
Also included in the flagged arms package to the self-ruling east Asian island are 20 M992A2 field artillery ammunition support vehicles and 5 M88A2 Hercules armored recovery vehicles, along with an Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System, radios, spares, plus other contractor and logistics support.

Those old guns won't get off three rounds each if they are lined up like the video shows.
Good news but they need missiles. Lots of missiles.
Artillery?
Ok so that sends a signal that the US is either not serious OR doesn't want to inflame an already bad situation.
My guess is both. Not serious and don't want to inflame.
And it's understandable. The US is divided because you let them divide you.
If you see a TV program making the argument that borders are racist or that your fellow brothers and sisters are racist, you want to be misled and are too lazy to wake up.
Deep in your heart you must know it's a lie and I get it, it's fun to watch and makes your heart race.
But know this: the effect you're feeling is a drug that they know you produce, like pavlov's dogs, when they present you with certain narratives and your alpha brainwaves drop The same time, turning your cognitive capabilities lower. You give in.
They're evil.
Those who divide us are evil.
CNN is evil. There's no other way to put it.
They broadcast lies and division
Their anchors are perverts and drug addicts
Nothing wrong with that, but just so you know, they're not America's finest and you shouldn't blindly follow them ESPECIALLY after years and years of documented lies on racism and sexism and bigotry and shootings and financial scandals and wars and the drugs they push
In essence they are evil. :) but I say it jokingly, only to wake you up
What they are is weak. These anchors know they lie. They hate the industry and that's why they become addicted to drugs and sex orgies. They're empty. They know what they do is wrong, but their addiction to power and sex is what keeps them going on TV.
Who is really evil are the people at the top. Jeff Zucker the boss of CNN and his bosses at warner media... they use hatred as a mechanism to divide you and distract you to benefit from it. That truly is evil and that's who I mean from the beginning
I don't think Taiwan will buy weapons it doesn't want.
Jac they'll buy whatever they can get right now, they're desperate
Their priorities are
1. Nukes (likely have a couple secret ones IF the US still exists and wants to be a nation state)
2. Advanced weapon systems like hypersonics (US doesn't have any commercially available), surface to air defense systems, surface to water systems, etc
3. Electric combat systems
4. Artillery.. why last? Because it's the last line of defense when you already lost the air war
So yeah.. that wasn't a show of strength nor seriousness
Agreed. I think if they had a small but effective nuclear deterrent that could change the situation. Who knows how the Chinese would react to that though.
Guided mobile artillery is a game changer,
They need just about anything they can get their hands on right now. But the above comments are correct, this is just an appetizer. (Or a nasty little dessert, served up after the war has already been lost.)
@fazman true, but not yet readily available, right?
Oh and some subs...drool
They need about 500 million people.😂
Started the draft along the border send 2 war u fools
