CBS SF Bay Area: New ‘Delta Plus’ COVID Variant Detected In San Francisco Bay Area: ‘It’s At Least As Bad’ As Original
MOUNTAIN VIEW (KPIX) — As the Delta variant of the coronavirus fuels an ongoing COVID wave, Bay Area health experts are keeping a close eye on yet another variant: Delta Plus.
“We believe that it’s at least as bad as Delta,” said Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease specialist at the University of California San Francisco.
“We don’t know if it’s even worse than Delta yet. When I say worse we think about number one: is it more transmissible? Number two, does it evade vaccines? And, number three, does it make you sicker?”
The Santa Clara County Public Health Department has detected 46 cases of the Delta Plus mutation, according to their latest statistics. It is not the dominant strain in the area, however.

WNU Editor: My brother lives in the Bay area. He is right now on a fishing trip 300 miles north of San Francisco at Eureka. He was the only one on the boat today. Everyone is cancelling their trips because of thie Delta variant.

The US public health industry forfeited its credibility when they sacrificed their science to not appear to help President Trump.
I see no reason to believe a word they say on Wuhan virus
I live in Eureka. The public health tyrant has ordered a new mask mandate because of a spike in the cases. the local news here keeps saying that its only the unvaccinated. I have personal knowledge of only two of the people who recently tested positive. Both had no symptoms. both were double vaccinated. Besides the authorities continually lying about everything Covid, They are missing the point I think. The MRNA jab is designed to instruct the cells to make the spike protein. So it is doing its job obviously. Of course the vaccinated will show up with the virus.
I do not ask people if they are vaccinated or not. Its their business. But in conversation, I have learned of four people I know personally that had such adverse long lasting effects they wish they had never gotten the jab. one was hospitalized.
The ocean must have calmed down so the boats are going out. I haven't heard how the salmon are doing this year. If no salmon, the boats usually take their customers out for bottom fish. I hope your bro comes back rich in pink, (Salmon)
My guess is if the Davos group gets round up the virus goes away, it's magic!
You can be assured the the "Delta Plus Variant" has been in filthy godawful San Francisco for weeks prior.
Sad and may be worse coming tomorrow. Thanks China.
Did he catch anything (other than the flu)?
Give me liberty or give me Wuhan virus.
Guys don't buy into this nonsense
It's the vaccines that are causing it
Virii get less lethal over time because they would otherwise die too if they kill the host. It's virology 101
Transmission goes up
Lethality goes down
Basic evolutionary pressure law.
Israel- has some of the highest vaccination rates in the world- outbreak
China vaccinated everyone last year- outbreak
Gibraltar have 100%vaccination-- outbreak and now on travel red list
If you take an experimental shot because the media which you know is funded by big pharma, Chinese money and lied to you for years, I don't know what to tell you.
Just don't make it worse by taking booster shots. Relax, think.
If you have any questions, ask your doc but don't go to a Democrat doctor.. they're all activists now, brainwashed cult members
Why? The Delta variant is much milder than the previous ones.
Stephen, exactly. But some in the media, the typical treasonous and criminally corrupt networks like CNN spread false information on this whole pandemic.
This network needs to be taken off the air and sued into oblivion. And their parent company too, it's inhumane what they do to us. They don't just lie, they lie with purpose and for years. They're a hostile entity within your own nation.
They serve only the deep state and people go along with it, thinking the deep state is legitimate. They're treasonous corrupt criminals targeting your own people. They ARE the enemy, 100%. Trump got that one right, not a fan of him, but networks like CNN couldn't do more damage to your nation if that was their expressed mission.
If there's any justice or karma they'll be reincarnated as swamp creatures in eternity.
so many experts here. who needs Science Daily
Fred. May I recommend a podcast to you in which the head editor of skeptic magazine is shown to be fallible, just like every other human?
See the difference between you and nee, little parrot, is that I'm an actual scientist, who knows and has lived the scientific method and understands what empirical evidence is.
You, dear little parrot, are a scholasticist. It's typical for the humanities. And you don't understand nor care for the difference or that Benjamin Franklin warned us of your types.
The people who shout science but mean "99% agreed"(after finally begging motivated/ coerced)..
Real science depends on reproducible experiments and empirical evidence.
That's why you believe into the vaccine and I don't.
I worked in a lab and I give you advice.
You, the scholasticist, are a herd animal, looking to what the majority thinks.
A majority without degrees and whipped into panic by a scrupulous media.
Human to human
Don't take this experimental drug, little parrot. I'd miss making fun of you :)
Sincerely,
The one who opens your cage

irst big test of Covid- 19 vaccines during a Covid-19 surge, places with higher vaccination rates are dodging the worst outcomes so far, while cases and hospitalizations surge in less-vaccinated areas.
There are more tests yet to come, including when cold weather forces people in the well-vaccinated Northeast back indoors. But as the highly contagious Delta strain tears through the country, the trends thus far suggest vaccines can turn Covid-19 into a less dangerous, more manageable disease.
“Vaccines definitely make a difference,” said David Dowdy, an epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
A Wall Street Journal analysis shows sharp geographic divides in vaccination and hospitalization levels, with every state that has an above-average vaccine rate showing below-average hospitalizations, including in well-vaccinated New England. In the South, meanwhile, fewer people are vaccinated on average and hospitalization rates are climbing faster.
The reaction of a child. Well, I tried little parrot. Let the record stand.
Who needs Science Daily? Parrot does not. Too many polysyllabic words for the poor parrot.
