Why can't the C17 flights go to India, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan?
You could evacuate more people.
You could sort them out within the month and move them on.
You would spare some wear and tear on the C17s.
India is willing to take any and all Afghan Sikhs and Hindus. At least they have legislation in the hopper soon to be voted on.
India, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan ma6y not be proffering help because they are afraid of being stuck with that many destitute people. India does not want the Muslim and funny thing is Muslim Tajikistan and Uzbekistan don't either. They certainly do not want non- Tajik or non-Uzbek refugees as the case may be. Russia also to them not to accept them and/or not to give the US landing rights. So Russia is really "concerned", but they are not that concerned.
Of course a temporary camp in Pakistan before onward processing is out of the question. Pakistan is afraid of getting yet more refugees and they created the mess and are the enemy.
