Presdient Biden Banned US Troops From Leaving Kabul Airport Because He Feared A 'Black Hawk Down' Moment

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that US troops are 'not operating outside the perimeter of the airport' on Monday, but some evacuations outside the airport have happened

Daily Mail: Biden FINALLY orders US troops to rescue Americans in Kabul after telling commanders last week he feared a 'Black Hawk Down' moment and banned them from sending soldiers out of airport

* Biden made the comparison during a video call with military officials last week

* He was discussing evacuating people from outside the Kabul airport

* Biden didn't want rescue mission to turn into 'Black Hawk Down,' when US choppers were shot down and troops were dragged through the street in 1993

* On Monday, 16 Americans were rescued two hours away from the Kabul airport

* But the administration says US troops are not 'operating' outside the airport

* Biden and the Taliban have negotiated an increased perimeter around the airport to let evacuees get through

* The US military has evacuated 28,000 people from Kabul since August 14

Joe Biden told military officials he was reluctant to deploy US forces outside the Kabul airport perimeter over fears of a Black Hawk Down-style tragedy.

In a video conference last week, the president also negatively commented on how quickly the Afghan government fell apart and told commanders he wanted them to be focused on beefing up security at the airport.

During the call, the president alluded to the 'Black Hawk Down' tragedy of the Somali Civil War, which saw 18 US personnel killed.

WNU Editor: If this report is true, it tells me that President Biden and his aides are micromanaging military rescue operations at Kabul airport.

Joe Biden is an illiterate. HE is illiterate on the subject if military history and science. Is it expected that he be as literate as a War college graduate? No.

But damn man Black Hawk Down had 2 major factors . One was micromanagement, Sec Deaf Les Aspin. Les would not let the the military have tanks, because they looked warlike. SO the Us could not have them but the Pakistanis could. When they were needed the US called the Paks, wasted time negotiating and then wasted more time as the Paks go ready. Thank you Less Aspin.

"In September General Powell asked Aspin to approve the request of the U.S. commander in Somalia for tanks and armored vehicles for his forces. Aspin turned down the request."

The other aspect was that Al Qaeda was in Mogadishu training the militias on the creative use of RPG-7. Very simple training, but nonetheless deadly.

Looking weak and denying requests of military commanders is what is going to screw it up.

Joe is not going to learn new tricks. People not in the top 50 of radio have opined that Jake is a Harvard educated idiot. So here we are.

I would rather trust a sophomore in ROTC, who was an avid war gamer. They would have better mental reflexes than Sir Jake or an aged, addled dog, who cannot learn new tricks.

WASHINGTON, DC – A new poll commissioned by VoteVets shows that American veterans overwhelmingly support President Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, along with all Americans.

When asked, “Do you believe it is time for America to bring troops home from Afghanistan and end the war, or do you believe we need to continue the war in Afghanistan and send more troops in to retake the country from the Taliban?” veterans support the withdrawal by a whopping 63-24 percent margin. That is in-line with findings among registered voters, who support the withdrawal by a 65-22 percent margin, according to the poll.

“Veterans know the cost of war, so it should come as no surprise that they strongly back President Biden’s decision to end the war in Afghanistan,” said Mary Kaszynski, Director of Government Relations for VoteVets. “The military achieved its security mission in Afghanistan a long time ago, when it decimated al Qaeda and brought Osama bin Laden to justice. Veterans strongly believe President Biden is right – it is time to go.”

A lot of attention has rightfully been put on the plight of translators and other Afghan allies, in recent weeks. Overall, when asked if they would welcome Afghan refugees into their own neighborhoods, Americans said they would, by a 46-37 percent margin. A majority of Democrats and Independents would support bringing Afghans into their own neighborhoods. Republicans are out of step with the majority of Americans, saying they would oppose any Afghans settling in their communities (20 percent support, 64 percent oppose).

“The heartbreaking images we’re seeing from Afghanistan have most Americans feeling a sense of responsibility to care for our Afghan allies,” said Kaszynski. “Given how Donald Trump and his radical allies in Congress and right-wing media have riled Republicans up about helping any refugee, this shouldn’t come as a shock that when it comes to doing right by our Afghan allies, Republicans are just not willing to step up in the same way other Americans are.”

The poll was performed by Public Policy Polling, from August 20-21, via landline and text. It polled 668 registered voters and 606 veterans.
