Taliban Spokesman Says Music Will Be Banned And Women Need A Male Chaperone If They Travel Alone For Three Days

In an interview with the New York Times, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said while women will eventually be allowed to return to work and go on trips to school, and hospitals, they would need a male chaperone for trips that last several days

Daily Mail: Music will be banned in Afghanistan and women will need a male chaperone if they travel alone for three days, Taliban leader says

* Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told the New York Times that the terrorist group will be more liberal than they were 20 years ago

* He said the Taliban would let women return to school and their jobs in the future - as long as they wear a hijab head covering

* He also denied reports that the Taliban would once again force women to stay inside, like they did from 1996 - 2001 and would flog them for misbehaving

* Mujahid also denied reports that the group is hunting down former American allies

* He added that he hopes that the Taliban could work with the international community in the future

* But, he said, music will be banned in the country and women will need a male chaperone on trips that take several days

* His remarks come just one day after he gave a press conference warning women to stay inside while they train their forces to properly treat women

A Taliban leader has announced that music will be banned in Afghanistan and women will be required to travel with a male chaperone on trips that last several days, even as he promises the Taliban will be more liberal than they were 20 years ago.

In an interview with the New York Times, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said while women will eventually be allowed to return to work and go on trips to school, and hospitals, they would need a male chaperone for trips that last several days. And music will be banned in the country.

WNU Editor: About half of Afghanistan's population is under the age of 18. This music and entertainment ban (to be replaced with readings of the Koran) is going to be a cultural shock for many of them.

Perhaps the Afghan military and it's leadership should have made more of an effort to defend their country. After all we left them everything and more that they would have needed. For better or worse, as long as they don't bother us I suspect we aren't going to do much about this.

This is the exact culture that our congressmen and intel officials support and promote in Xinjiang province along with their wahabi benefactors in Saudi Arabia. Why is it a disaster in Afghanistan but highly desirable for the Uyghurs?

I kinda would enjoy if Hillary Clinton had an usher, that witch needs constant surveillance and "moral guidance" .. maybe we can ask the Taliban to send their best over here for a cultural exchange program?

The left will cheer it on too, after all we ought to be not bigoted rednecks, so let's have her getting ushered around :D

The problem is you directed and took control of everything , you told them where to move the chess pieces.
They were incapable of mounting a defence once they were abandoned overnight , it was like taking an engine out of a state of the art plane and telling them to fly

No one under 18 will even remember what life was like under the Taliban as they weren't born yet. Any memories anyone 30 or under will have of that time will be limited at best.

All many of them really know is they lived under the tyranny of one of the most corrupt, venal, and abusive governments on earth that smote them continuously. When this government's main foreign backer began redeployment, the first thing they did was throw off that oppressive government.

In order to facilitate this process, they supported the Taliban in mass. Witness the lightning fast progress the Taliban made in gaining control of the country. In order to do this, the Taliban obviously has/massive support among the populace. Unfortunately I'm not sure the Afghans had a proper understanding of just who they were supporting!! It will indeed be a culture shock for many!! Meet the new boss, worse than the old boss!!

I do not know how many Taliban are ISIS-K, but wherever they have provincial control, everything Zabihullah Mujahid said does not mean squat. Apparently ISIS-K are Taliban who think the Taliban is soft. So we will hear stories of Christians being burned aliveand other atrocities and the CIA will attribute it to the Taliban and and the MSM will echo that message and then they can have war again.

Anyways, Ron
