NBC: Fury and disgust at CIA, Pentagon, in Congress that thousands of Afghans will be left behind
Evacuations are likely to slow greatly by Friday to give U.S. troops time to withdraw. That's not enough time to evacuate all the Afghans who helped the U.S.
WASHINGTON — With President Joe Biden intending to stick to the Aug. 31 deadline for U.S. troops to leave Afghanistan, it's becoming clear that thousands of the Afghans who helped the U.S. won't be evacuated, a scenario that has engendered deep frustration inside U.S. national security agencies.
"People are furious and disgusted," said a former U.S. intelligence official who declined to be quoted by name. A defense official said he grew nauseated as he considered how many Afghan allies would be left behind.
At the CIA, "officers feel a real sense of obligation, moral obligation and personal obligation," to the Afghans they supported and trained, said former CIA Director John Brennan, an NBC News national security consultant.
But the precarious situation for U.S. troops on the ground left President Joe Biden with no good options to extend their presence, military officials said.

There's definitely something eery going on among the deep state and these Intel agencies which break all laws, and are unelected and remove presidents if they don't agree with their idea of the world, it's frightening
Joe Biden is a complete and utter coward. I am beginning to think that the fight with Corn Pop, which was over before it began, was the only fight Biden has ever been in. Is it too much of stretch to believe that Biden went to Corn Pop before the showdown at the pool and paid Corn Pop off?
Biden is a pussy and it shows in his character. He never grew up. He is half a man and the world suffers for it.
These Intel agencies & "news" media corporations worked damn hard to get Biden elected, pulling all sorts of strokes. They knew what he was like. They cannot criticise Biden. They're responsible for the fiasco in getting a senile old man elected. Their chickens are only starting to come home to roost. Keep ducking 🙈
