NBC: Potential Al Qaeda resurgence in Afghanistan worries U.S. officials

Gen. Frank McKenzie told NBC News that he does not believe the Taliban will stop Al Qaeda from using Afghanistan to strengthen and rebuild.

WNU Editor: Someone has to tell these Pentagon officials that with Afghanistan on the verge of collapse, they have lost all credibility on predicting what will happen next.

And as for Al Qaeda re-emerging in Afghanistan. They are already there .... Al-Qaeda operates under Taliban protection: UN report (IANS). More here .... Al Qaeda present in 15 Afghan provinces: UN (DAWN).

AQ is present in 45+ countries now. What makes Afghanistan so particularly scary vs. the syrian branch, which the CIA deems fit to dump massive amounts of TOWs into their controlled territory?

9:03 is a very good comment.

Al Qaeda is in the US. Our southern border is wide open. Border Patrol caught 210,000 in July. Another 300,000 is estimated to have gotten clean away. The Bidens might not mind being caught with their pants down, but the rest of us do not want to be someone's bitch.
