Euronews/Reuters: Harris to Push Back on China's South China Sea Claims During Asia Trip
Vice President Kamala Harris will focus on defending international rules in the South China Sea, strengthening U.S. regional leadership and expanding security cooperation during her trip to Vietnam and Singapore this month, a senior White House official told Reuters.
Harris will be the first U.S. vice president to visit Vietnam as Washington seeks to bolster international support to counter China's growing global influence.
The U.S. official said Washington saw both countries as critical partners given their locations, the size of their economies, trade ties and security partnerships on issues such as the South China Sea, which China claims almost in its entirety.

She's super unpopular in Vietnam
In Vietnam they loved Donald Trump, they loved his nationalism, that's something Democrats never understand...
BUT Vietnamese are super friendly so she will definitely have a warm welcome and I expect tons of flowers and school kids/ students greeting her in the thousands... America is super popular in Vietnam, and China is extremly unpopular
It's paradoxical like fck because of the war --- what they of course call the American war over there, not Vietnam war ----- they have really some of the biggest hearts and reject China due to its constant meddling in the north, bad history and how they destroyed their fishery and bully them etc
If Kamala can extend the work towards a military alliance with Vietnam, I would give her all the credit.
Singapore is a mixed bag, they are a bit like the Germans, very open to business with China and the west. They'll be neutral and less suspicious of China/ are more integrated with them anyways
The Vietnamese are very suspect of China, I'm sure they believe the lab leak.. one of the things vietnamese also dislike about China is that they perceive them as money over everything people and very vulgar.. while in both nations, China and Vietnam, family comes first, in Vietnam there's just much more love, while in China you have the famous dragon mamas who publish their children and force them to study like 12-16hrs a day. It's very different. Vietnam is relaxed, chilled, China is very aggressive.. so there's not much love between these countries.. Singapore has a work ethic like China, you can think of Singapore like a mini Shanghai, its it's a very small place, like 20 miles by 30 miles or so, someone correct me.. it's a city state, one of these finance hubs, very high income for Asia
I am not sharing the majority opinion. Russia and China can make fun of Kamala Harris, but behind that there is a threat. I'm not a supporter of the VP but I'm pretty sure she will be a ferocious enemy of China, because her mother is from India...and India and China are hating each other. Russia is also condescending with black people which is not helping too.
Maybe Willie Brown's whore should worry more about her former state than about the South China Sea.
The US should worry about the South China Sea, but I think there is little Kamala can do about it.
