Washington Post: Four weeks in July: Inside the Biden administration’s struggle to contain the delta surge
Early last month, as the planned Fourth of July blowout at the White House approached, top health officials inside the Biden administration began calling each other with a flurry of anxious questions.
Would the president declare victory too soon? Would the event be seen as beating a virus that was not yet defeated? And would the massive party, with 1,000 guests, contribute to the virus’s spread?
While many in the White House had set their gaze on the present — eager to mark the progress that President Biden had made as coronavirus cases dipped below 12,000 per day for the first time since March 2020 — health officials were focusing abroad, where a new variant, delta, had sent cases skyrocketing. Even at home, in lightly vaccinated communities across Missouri and Arkansas, health officials were nervously watching cases rise, driven by delta.

WNU Editor: Since his inauguration 7 months ago, 228,000 Americans have died from Covid under President Biden's watch. What concerns me is that this wave is very different from the previous ones. It is hitting the young and according to WSJ, hitting the affluent (link here).

The White House is giving no answers, and the President is at his home in Delaware.
My gut tells me that while the media is focused on Afghanistan, the White House is more focused on what will happen if the vaccines do not work against the new variants, and hospitalizations and deaths sky-rocket in the coming months.
You can take this to the bank.
A return to mandatory lock-downs and closures coupled with a repeat of the last year's Covid-19 death toll will be devastating to the morale of the U.S., and it will cripple President Biden's agenda for the rest of his term.

From past flu seasons the CDC has correctly guessed the flu strain for the upcoming winter nd vaccinate people for it and they jump on it so hard that yet another flu strain fills the void and spreads widely anyway.
So they hit alpha strain hard and another strain filled the void. Not a shocker.
However, The Daily Mail cited CDC data to suggest another wave of flu infections might be coming, with a strain that this year’s vaccine could be less effective in fighting.

So in 2019 they warned of another variant regardless if they had the usual number of flu shots.
"Lockdowns and closures" did nothing to slow the spread of the virus in the past. Normally knowing the end result of what they will do as the editor correctly points out coupled with knowing they don't work would mean leaders would avoid such policies at pretty much any cost. Unfortunately these aren't normal times.
This is a tough situation. People have to ask themselves "do I take an untested vaccine and risk death from the vaccine or is it less risky to get the virus?" After all without an effective vaccine we're all going to get this virus eventually. Thankfully right now this doesn't seem to be anything like the "Black Death."
At the end of the day rightly or wrongly most Americans aren't particularly concerned about Afghanistan. Our main concerns are more basic. "Will be able feed, clothe, provide shelter, health care and other basic necessities for our families?" "What decisions do we need make regarding the pandemic that maximize the chances of remaining healthy?" There's many others but they mostly focus on basic necessities rather than Afghanistan and what happens there.
This admin is beyond terrible. The worst I've seen in my relatively brief 40 years. That being said, hearing over 225k have died this year alone (not sure how many had co-morbidities, died of other causes, etc) I'm glad I got my shots. I do however understand people's hesitations..to an extent.

If they were really serious, they would print bar charts of COVID deaths by age group. Have you seen them? I have not without a lot of looking. They exists, but by and large they are very hard to find.

We are not vaccine skeptics. I've had several vaccines in my life.
I'm educated in biology, genetics and virology, and I'll refuse to take this shot even if they put me into the camps.
It's in direct violation of the Nuremberg codes and we have them for a reason, not just to avoid loss of life but to avoid a medical tyranny

My advice on all this is this
One side is calm, patient and wants to discuss facts
The other side, the government, lies to you, uses force and intimidation and has put everything on the line by signing the country contracts with these pharma companies
Go have a look at the leaked Pfizer contract, and you'll understand why the government is so desperate to get everyone vaccinated
Because time will show that, once again, they fcked up and those with natural immunity did far better. No matter how many pharma executives or CNN ghouls tell you otherwise
Or why do you think the biggest hesitancy group is not "dumb Republicans" as cnn and the government wants you to believe, but those with high educations, PHDs and medical staff are rejecting it

Because they know of previous vaccines that have killed scores and they remember this and see how the media lies. The vaccine skeptics in this case ARE the doctors.
The pushers are the government and pharma which pushed drugs that are not working as advertised/ hoped for
Either way, don't get pit against each other. The entire western world is at stake to be enslaved through a medical tyranny grid and they do this coincidentally while the great reset takes place lol give me a break
