France 24: International spectators to be barred from Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics
Tickets for the Beijing 2022 winter Olympics will be sold to spectators from mainland China only, while unvaccinated athletes must spend 21 days in quarantine ahead of the Games, the International Olympic Committee said on Wednesday.
Organisers of the Beijing Games have informed the IOC’s Executive Board 2022 of the principles to deliver “safe and successful Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as scheduled,” the committee said.
The Beijing Games start on Feb. 4 and the Chinese capital will become the first to have hosted both summer and winter editions after also staging the Beijing 2008 summer Games.

Needless to say, this is China being China. Quite sad, actually. They are like the Edwardian middle class spending fortunes in hopes of looking like (and thus being equated with) their aristocratic betters, while completely missing the point that the gulf separating them has infinitely more to do with than appearances. What a weird, contorted, Kafkaesque amalgamation this Chinese freak show is. On the one hand they want to emulate the West, craving its approval, and on the other it has no qualms about threatening to bring about its extinction. Actually makes Charles Manson look quite sane.
Cancel this shit fest. No western nation should attend or allow their athletes to compete in the Fascist Chinese exercise in global coercion.
