* Mullin accused the State Department of actively trying to quash their efforts
* Meanwhile, more than 1,000 other Americans and Afghan allies were waiting to leave Afghanistan on Sunday as negotiations with the Taliban broke down
Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin claimed on Tuesday morning that the Biden State Department tried to stop his successful mission to rescue a US mother and her three young children from Afghanistan by land.
Mullin and fellow GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson helped organize the evacuation of Texas resident Mariam, who was left behind when the US military finished its withdrawal.
They were aided by Army veteran Cory Mills, who was in the Middle East with Mariam and her children for the daring rescue.
That country has not been named so as not to jeopardize future rescue attempts.
