Mediaite: Ken Burns Says Current Times ‘Equal’ to Civil War, Depression and World War II: ‘It’s Really Serious’

Historian and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns said that the present day is one of the worst times in American history.

Burns made the remark while on the “SmartLess” podcast, hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, comparing current events with the Civil War, the Depression, and World War II.

“It’s really serious. There are three great crises before this: the Civil War, the Depression, and World War II. This is equal to it,” he said on Monday’s episode when asked about the direction the United States was headed.

Who and What Is Tearing the US Apart? (Patrick Buchanan)

Polls Show That The American People Are Extremely Angry – And They Are About To Get Even Angrier (The Economic Collapse)

What is my take.

Being a U.S. watcher I have never seen the U.S. like this.

But I do not think that the think current times are equal to the times of the civil war/depression/World War II.

But what is clear to me from looking outside is that in some parts of the U.S. there are a lot of groups that are very unhappy right now.

And while this level of tension has been contained, I cannot help but fear that if the economy worsens and people's expectations are not delivered, this unhappiness is going to spread and escalate to levels that Ken Burns is fearful of.

The next few months are going to be critical on where we are all going, and I am focused primarily on two crisis. The pandemic and the possibility of another deadly wave developing where the current vaccines are not effective, and the economic implosion that is happening in China right now with Evergrande.

Both crisis, if not contained, will cause damage on a global scale. And as bad as 2020 and 2021 have been, there does exist the possibility that 2022 will be even worse.

Yeah. Civil War, Depression and WWII is a bit dramatic. But we do have China - once again - threatening to cause another global crisis. This one financial.

And as a so-called "Developing Nation", China has a high probability of success in demands on the WTO for a bail out.

What pandemic? The one Fauci created?

Off patent stuff is being denigrated in favor of new stuff so corporations and their regulators can get rich. I don't mind corporations getting rich, but only when they do it in honest commerce.

Ivermectin is a known antiviral as well as being a dewormer approved for humans and animals. Ivermectin is being used in Japan and India. Safe dosages are known. I've been looking up stuff on the government site about Ivermectin and Remdesivir. You can find lots of stuff on Ivermectin being an antiviral.

What is going on is that this is what fascism looks like; Democrats are in control.

I assume Ken Burns is pimping a new series coming to PBS.
His job is like any salmon, hype, hype and some more hype.
