Guessing here. A person can have a lot of will power, but there is no rule that such will power will extend to all aspect of life. Maybe Kim Jong Un had gastric bypass surgery?
It does look bad to be an obese leader in a starving country. So at least he is not that tone deaf. IMO Kim Jon Un he is less tone deaf than the Democrat leadership.
I also bet Jim Jong Un has more respect from others in the ruling class for getting in shape. It might be 1 point in 10, 100, 1,000, but it is in a positive direction. the still might despise or fear him, but he still moved the needle however slightly in a positive direction. That little bit of increased respect however grudging won't last forever is they despise him.
