U.S. Growing Frustrated With Iranian Delays On Nuclear Talks

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi

FOX News: State Department frustrated by Iran stonewalling on nuclear talks

US 'may reach a point where we may have to conclude JCPOA is no longer viable,' official says

The State Department is becoming frustrated with Iran refusing to say when they may re-enter nuclear talks, officials told Fox News Thursday, though Secretary of State Antony Blinken has not yet set a date for when U.S. patience will run out.

The last round of high-level talks took place in Austria in May and were aimed at bringing the United States back into the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, nuclear deal with Iran.

Both sides, following those talks, signaled a willingness to work on moving forward. But State Department officials told Fox News Thursday that Iran has yet to give a date on when they will be prepared to re-engage in talks.

WNU Editor: The US is saying that they are working on contingency plans .... US says it is working on contingency plans in case Iran continues nuclear advances and refuses to return to talks (CNN). Apparently Israel is also involved .... Israel, US said to discuss ‘plan B’ if Iran nuclear talks don’t resume (Times of Israel). More here .... U.S. and Israel held secret talks on Iran "plan B" (Axios).

But I do not see Iran coming to the negotiating table in the current environment. They are going to do what the Taliban did in neighboring Afghanistan. Wait the U.S. out.

Iran is too close to nuclear weapons to back down. Iran just does not want to agree, but above all wants to buy time.

So, the US is "frustrated"? WTF did it expect, non-frustration? Orange Man Bad showed how to deal with the Iranian Shite Show. But Obama's proxy (Biden) nixed that approach, of course, in favor of the old approach, which never has or ever will work. Meanwhile, Iran is busy stonewalling, as it always has, to buy as much time as necessary to produce a few nukes. Look for Israel to have something to say about it in the very near future.
