Military.com: Marine Commandant Wants 'Honest, Open Critique' of Afghanistan Withdrawal G
en. David Berger, commandant of the Marine Corps, thinks the U.S. military should thoroughly examine the decisions it made in the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
"While it's relatively fresh in our minds, we need the honest, open critique, or a commission ... that cracks open: What were the options that were available, who made what decisions at what time?" he said Wednesday speaking at an event sponsored by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a think tank based in Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Naval Institute.

Yeah, ya think? The US Military should deeply examine the orders it was given, who specifically gave them, received them, and why they decided to follow them.
Instead of mass Flag Officer resignations.
POLITICAL,
HACKS,

What a fuktard. "Open and honest" huh? Breaking news: Our government is NEITHER. Ya'll fuked up and it should have been obvious it would happen. How's that for open and honest? And to think these are the geniuses who we PAY to protect us. Fuktard.

Do you think Ambassador Jim Jeffrey was the only one? Some generals had to know what he did and approved of it. You think Syria was the only p0ace where generals were playing games and violating the UCMJ?

I'm actually cautiously optimistic that we will get am open and frank assessment of why the withdrawal wasn't executed as well as it should have been. After all we may be at war with China or Russia at anytime. In order to be successful, we will need to learn from the Afghan experience.
Part of the problem seems to be that President Biden and the generals who were on charge executing this are the "cool kids" who the leadership class worked tirelessly to get in these positions. This is especially the case with Biden and VP Harris. They pulled out all stops to get them in these positions and I think the first instinct is going to be to close ranks abd try and protect them.
So far it's the Marine Comandant. I expect such calls to grow and the momentum for the proper investigation to grow exponentially and for it to happen. I hope and pray the editor's assessment that it won't happen is incorrect. After all if we cannot learn from our mistakes the mid to long range survival of the nation is unlikely. We have very powerful enemies arrayed against us. Learning from Afghanistan is going to be mission critical for our very survival.
President Biden and the generals who were on charge executing this are the "cool kids" who the leadership class worked tirelessly to get in these positions.
Since they are the "cool kids," there's a great deal of emotional investment in them which will make it hard for them to cut them loose.
Some reports are indicating that Biden isn't taking the calls of the British PM. Obviously that can't continue. Pretty soon I might expect foreign leaders to be applying pressure to remove the Biden/Harris team.
Given the level of electoral chicanery that many of our "allies" were likely a part of, they could be more reluctant than normal to distance themselves from team Biden. They all worked tirelessly to get Trump out and Biden on. They got their wish. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for. You might get it!!
