700 Afghan Evacuees Have Walked Off US Military Bases

Afghan evacuees are being housed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, one of eight military bases used to host 53,000 people while they await resettlement services

Daily Mail: Republican Senators send letter to Biden administration demanding to know why Afghan refugees are being allowed to walk off US military bases

* Republican senators call for a halt to resettling Afghan evacuees who have not completed the Special Immigrant Visa process

* More than 700 Afghan refugees could have left bases since being evacuated

* It's not illegal for refugees to leave and the military can't legally hold them there

* But Sen. Joni Ernst and colleagues said lack of vetting could pose security risk

Senate Republicans are demanding the Biden administration stops bringing Afghan evacuees to the U.S., except those who have been fully vetted, amid reports that hundreds have walked off military bases.

Sen. Joni Ernst and 15 of her Senate colleagues wrote to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to warn that current vetting procedures risked the safety of the American public.

'We are concerned the hastily developed process creates gaps in security and criminal vetting and risks our nation’s security,' they wrote.

WNU Editor: Another example on how broken the US immigration system has become, and the failure of Washington (in my opinion deliberately so) to address it.

300 out of Fort Bliss alone according to this report. Fort Bliss is right across the river (Rio Grande) from Juarez. Taken in by the local al qaeda affiliate cell currently (hurriedly) organizing in any number of cartel hovels.

I strongly agree with you. I have a hard time to accept the Democrat position. I am a legal immigrant and it is a long way (time, work, money) to become US citizen, but I'm proud to be always on the right side of the law. How is it possible to ask American to respect the law and at the same time it is not a big deal when some are breaking it?
Outrageous!!!
