Alec Baldwin ignored the golden rule of gun safety by pointing the prop at someone but the gun never should have been loaded with live ammunition to begin with, experts say.
Zak Knight, a pyrotechnic and special effects engineer who is a member of Local 44, told DailyMail.com on Friday: 'There should have never been live rounds on a movie set, that's number one.
Number two is every single person on a movie set has a right to inspect a weapon before it's fired.
And number three is, there is no reason to ever put a person in front of a weapon that's firing.
'Anytime you see a movie where the barrel is pointed down the camera lens, there should not be an operator behind it.
It's obvious that the considerations of this resulted in that gun being pointed directly at two people.

Obungler and the gays destroy America yet again.
What would Baldwin be spewing if say, Don Trump Jr. did this? The vile prick would be relishing it, mocking it and laughing over it. Maybe do a SNL skit on it.
Waving around a live (not-so-prop) gun and jokingly pulling the trigger on his cinematographer, killing her and wounding the person behind her. Massive ignorance and stupidity all around. Including the 24 year old female "armorer".
Fuck Alec Baldwin. I hope the infantile psychotic asshole is destroyed over this. He's also the Producer of this movie, so his meat is on the line big time.
"The person at the top that was responsible to make sure only blanks were used is the Producer.
The person at the bottom responsible is to make sure a live round was not pointed at a live person was the actor.
Both those persons were Alec Baldwin."

POTSMOKE,
R,
Russin, not sure if that's correct
There's a prop- master at such sets who is responsible first and foremost from my perspective
He is the one who manages and hands over the gun to the actors before each scene. That's the protocol.
But judging from prior safety complaints at the set, it looked like they handled safety precautions poorly
Having said all this, the financials and payouts will be handled by the studio
Baldwin gets off free anyways
He already found his loophole out, he was handling a COLT gun and is using the excuse that he was handed a "COLD" gun
Lol maybe
On top, there's speculation this was a setup.. how can a live round get into a prop gun?
To me, I wouldn't be surprised if it was either disgusting staff who hated him, because they complained that they were treated like dogs by the leftists, which we all know is very likely, considering they were leftists, the worst people in the world
But we shall see
Wouldn't be surprised if they try to use this to come after your guns
Baldwin is a political activist, a fanatic, so everything is possible, including murder.. nothing can be ruled out right now
Disgruntled staff, not disgusted

Actually the prop-master / armorer is a 24 year old female hipster who once handed an 11 year old girl a live/hot gun without checking it. Which turned out to be much less harmful than handing Alec Baldwin a live/hot gun without checking it.

It's been reported on open source media for years that Baldwin has anger management issues. He's threatened people & assaulted people in the past. Such a man should not have access to boxing gloves let alone fire arms. Apparently the crew had walked off set withholding their labour over issues with weapon safety earlier in the day. This is a sad & tragic case. Baldwin as producer will have responsibility for the lack of weapon safety. If he was handed the weapon & did not check it, he has responsibility also. He possessed the weapon during the incident. "I didn't know that the weapon was loaded" is not an excuse. If he was closer to the casualties than the recommended distance on a set he is responsible. If he aimed the weapon directly at the camera with people behind the camera, even if he had a genuine belief that the weapon was loaded with blank rounds, he is responsible for the breaking of the SOPs. As the producer he has the responsibility for the safety of everyone on the set & everyone coming into contact with the set. I like his performances as an actor & enjoy his movies. Is he a man stable enough to be in charge of a project involving the use of firearms? The court cases will answer those questions. There will certainly be civil cases. I can't see how he can avoid gripping the Dock in a criminal case. Keep ducking 🙈
"Russin, not sure if that's correct

Okay, there is the prop master, BUT...
My father started teaching me about guns at age 12. The 1st lesson was barrel control. That is be aware of where you are pointing the gun at all times. Have an awareness of where your gun is pointing and where people are and never the two shall meet. To me that makes Baldwin at least 40% to 49% responsible.
Did the scene/script call for gun to be pointed at the director or cinematographer?
For the life of me I cannot think. how 2 people got shot instead of just one.
You know the report of gun. You can feel it in your shoulder or hand. I could tell the difference between Remington and FMC. FMC was a cheaper brand of ammo. It left more residue to clean up in the barrel. Also the shoulder did not hurt as much. I got to believe there is a difference between shooting blanks and real ammo.
How is it cool to play cowboy dress up for a Leftie, but owning guns today is not cool? Human nature has not changed.
"get real" for me, 10:32, is you never NEVER point a firearm at anyone unless...you finish the sentence anon.
Frankly I am uncomfortable with children and others even pointing a squirt gun at me. That's what the experience of war can do.
Like many other lefists, Baldwin is a clueless shithead.
CO = Producer
XO = Executive producer
Ops Officer = Showrunner?
CO = Old man. Buck stops at the old man. Baldwin is responsible.
It will be interesting to get a hold of the script and the specific scene. Did the scene call for Baldwin to point the gun in the direction of the director or was Baldwin horsing around like a typical liberal jackass.
Russin, I agree there's guilt all around
Ultimately any sane person would handle guns safely
BUT..I don't think he pointed it randomly.. he pointed at the camera for the scene.. that's my takeaway at least
Either way, we all can agree that most leftists are horrible people, that much is undeniable true.. and we can be sure from prior history that they will use this to come after your guns. They always have, always will.
"he pointed at the camera for the scene.. that's my takeaway at least"
That is a very plausible takeaway.
In a factory many people (everyone) is involved in safety. A factory might be operating for a 100 years and safety plans are still reviewed at least annually. What about Hollywood.
Now so far we are told the armorer is responsible.
We are told the first assistant director said "cold gun".
What about the actor. It was a revolver for Christ's sake. Baldwin is not smart enough to open a revolver, empty it, inspect the bullets and reload the gun?
If another person hands me a gun and tells me it is safe, I am still to inspect it.
I guess an actor cannot be inspected to know anything about anything except to point a gun like an outlaw and a repeat a few semi-memorized lines for a few dozen takes until maybe they get it right.
Handicapped parking for every actor?
Ok point taken@Hollywood
But also, if you consider how many movies with guns are made, it's not a bad track record.. of 100,000+movies with guns, only what, 10 accidents?
And I get it, every single death sucks and Baldwin sucks and leftists are truly demonic.. but statistically speaking it's almost guaranteed to happen.
But again.. why was a full round(with projectile) in Baldwin's gun?
That looks to me like a set-up
And knowing the demonic evil pedophile tyrannical know nothing left, they will come after your guns and use Baldwin as poster child
That's how the left works..
Leftists have killed more people and destroyed more lives than all guns in US World combined. Why not outlaw the left?
A REAL GUN
Frederick R. Lapides posted at 4:04.
I suggest Frederick write to Mr. Cheney and ask him for specifics.
I suspect that Cheney had target fixation. He was leading a game bird, while squeezing the trigger. Due to target fixation, he forgot his permissible arc of fire. His friend caught part of the pattern of the bird shot. At most the guy lost an eye, but the press is salacious and obfuscate the situation for profit and politics.
I have been bird hunting. I know I can't lead for shit. I have also not practiced much. I doubt that Frederick can lead a target. Notice that in Cheney' case the person lived. In Baldwin's case the person died.
It would be nice if Mr. Lapides knew something. Anything.
Assuming that Cheney was using a 12 gauge shotgun with # 7 1/2 shot (387 pellets), Cheney hit the person with about 10% of the pellets/shot.
Spread would vary by distance and or use of a choke obviously. Reading through reports some people suspect that people were closer than 90 feet. Unless people estimated distances well. told the sheriff truth fully, we many not know. Based on spread, the guy was farther away than 25 feet.
If the doctors have something like a coroner's report showing n shot distribution on the body, we may not get a good estimate on distance.
It was February 14th and so it was near dusk. It was still light, so it was still legal to hunt.
Cheney used a 28 gauge shotgun. Shot size is unspecified. 262 pellets @ 7 1/2 shot size.
Wearing orange does not mean shot, if the setting sun is behind you. Guy probably appeared as a silhouette (i.e. black) and in tall grass.
You would need to take picture of a person in silhouette at the same time of day and angle to see what it looked like. They said tall grass. Throw in bushes here and there and the guy said he is going back to the vehicles, Cheney would not know he was there.
It was the end of the day, and the guy thought "Oh hell, I am going to find that bird" and goes back out to find it, but does not tell other hunters in the field.
Hard to tell.
Funny thing is there is no talk of retrievers. A retriever will all but die trying to retrieve a bird. Maybe there were no dogs, since they were hunting in line spaced apart and driving the birds without dogs. Again a dog will all but die trying to retrieve a bird. you take an older experienced hunting dog with hip dysplasia and the dog will let you know in know uncertain terms what they think about being left behind. They probably hunted with out birds due to the number of people.
At any rate this was in tall grass near sunset not on golf course length grass.
Also the person hit bears some responsibility if he left the area and came back.
Baselines are important. The are so many hunting death per year. Finding out injuries by game type hunted and finding similar circumstances of accidents is important for a true comparison. It does not make good grist for political magazines.
IMO the national political magazines from CBS, NBC to Fox to others should have share a by lien with hunting magazines if they wanted to "keep it real".
Alec is toast. Firing a loaded gun and killing someone without checking it first is a felony in NM. The AD and armory guy are toast also. If it were my wife I would sue for all Alecs money and get it. Movie is toast, studio is probably toast, production company is toast. Fun times in NM for everyone except the girl and her family. She deserves better.
