Ethiopia’s Nobel Peace Prize-winning Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has said he will lead his country’s army “from the battlefront” starting on Tuesday, a dramatic new step as the year-long conflict moves closer to the capital, Addis Ababa.
Tens of thousands of people are estimated to have been killed and hundreds of thousands pushed into famine conditions since November last year when the prime minister ordered a military offensive against the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), which dominated the central government for decades before Abiy took office in 2018.

Leading the army from the front would not be necessary, if he had lead with humanitarian principles. For him it is exile or death. He would live well in exile on the talk circuit as a Nobel laureate. At least until a new government formed and they requested he be tried for war crimes at The Hague. I do not understand this guy.

Abiy Ahmed might be doing idiotic or evil things, but he is or was not a through and through idiot. He learned much of what he knows about fighting from the Tigrayans. He must have formed some friendships with people of Tigrayan extraction. Are the Tigrayans unreasonable or is it Abiy?
This is the guy who won the Nobel Peace Prize! Another reminder that the Nobel prizes are liberal bullshit, no matter how the controlled press pumps them up.
There was war between Eritrea and Ethiopia. Abiy Ahmed helped end it. That is worthy.
But overall, yes the Nobel prizes are bullshit.
Maybe Abiy supported Eritrean independence, because he is a crypto Muslim. Eritrrea is very much anto-Christian.
