What is disturbing is that Putin and Xi Jimping talk together about European issues. This can mean that Russia and China can have a common discussion on Taiwan and, why not have a common action for these two problems.

Poland needs to call conference concerning Russian infringement and aggression.

In the 18th and 20th centuries Russian royally fucked Poland in the ASS.

18th Century
Partitions of Poland–Lithuania

19th Century
There is no Poland, Russian done screwed them out of existence.

20th Century
Soviet invasion of Poland

Territorial changes of Poland immediately after World War II

Before we talk about Russian fears, we should talk about the fears of

Poland
Slovakia
Romania
Finland
Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
Georgia
...

China also has bone to pick with Russia. They are just biding their time to take it all back.

Poland just needs annex western Ukraine already so the polish-ukrainians who forced this maidan nightmare onto their country can move on with life and let the rational heads in the center and the east continue with the Minsk agreement.

Security guarantees for Moscow? Security guarantees for "the country?" Whst about secutity guarantees for America? We should develop international legal guarantees for the secutity of America.

Russia has legitimate security concerns that should be addressed. The problem is that the countries near Russia also have legitimate security concerns, and Putin won't address them because he has predatory ambitions. NATO countries are only sending armaments to Ukraine because Russia invaded Ukraine and is continuing to support armed conflict there to undermine Ukrainian sovereignty. Putin is the root cause of the very issues he complains about. Ukrainian support for NATO membership was a minority view before his invasions. Unless Putin is willing to negotiate in good faith and provide concessions, he's not going to get any.

The Anonymous comment that the issue is western Ukrainians (whom he inaccurately calls Poles) causing the problems, and that the rest of Ukraine doesn't hold the same opinions is ridiculous. This isn't 1994. An attempted Russian invasion then could likely have pacified much of the country, and they could have eliminated much Ukrainian nationalism by abandoning the western part. I distinctly remember a quote from a Russian general in Huntington's Clash of Civilizations to that effect. However, 30 years of independence, a history of continued elections with handovers of power (one of the few instances in the former Soviet Union), a strong civil society, a desire of Ukrainian oligarchs to keep what they have instead of turning it over to Putin, and backlash against Putin's imperialism has completely changed that.

Where once it might be said that Ukrainian pro-Western nationalism was a minority view compared to a slightly larger pro-Russian view with a huge bloc of people inbetween, that ration has changed decisively. That huge mass of undecided has gone over to pro-Western nationalism. The anti-maidan parties are no more than 15-20% of the population. Center and southern Ukraine would no longer tolerate being ruled by Moscow, and even in the east there is some nationalist support - Kharkhov is about split evenly.

Russia's demands on Ukraine isn't really about protecting the interest of Russophones in Ukraine. It's about preventing any kind of Ukrainian government control over its borders and territory so it becomes a failed state that can be manipulated and taken over by Moscow.
