Russian President Vladimir Putin has revealed he moonlighted as a taxi driver to make ends meet following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The collapse triggered economic hardship across the country, forcing many Russians to seek new and alternative ways to earn a living.
Speaking about the breakup of the state in 1991 in a documentary that aired on Sunday, Putin described it as the collapse of historical Russia.

WNU Editor: My head still hurts when I think of those times. We all had to do anything and everything to survive. Driving a "taxi" was something that anyone who had a car was doing at the time.
Two of my cousins in St. Petersburg took turns driving the family car as a taxi. My aunt took a job to clean these "taxis". Her worse experience was being told to clean the trunk of a "taxi" that was filled with blood.
Sighhh .... those were crazy times.
