The human rights thing is not working and is more about 'them' than any abuses.

During Obama's time in office the Chinese government was cracking down hard on house churches in China. Democrats could have reached across the aisle and made common cause.

Nothing

In a manner similar to RINO mouthing support for a cause, Hollywood elites champion Tibet and bupkis happens. What can you remember of all the hub bub? Richard Gere voiced support for a Free Tibet. Many people cannot name more than a few actors who do. What have they accomplished? We have a Free Tibet House in NYC, which if the US loses a war to China, you can bet that is coming down.

Could instead of condemning we use a carrot? No new contracts unless the human rights record improves significantly.

So there has been no support for Chinese Christians. Support for Falun Gong is invisible nowadays. Was it ever really there? Support for Chinese Buddhists? If there were more Chinese Buddhists maybe Free Tibet would not be a problem? Buddhism is cool, if you want to have a teenage rebellion against Christianity in your 40s. Actually support Buddhists, who are POC in a another country ... well that is problematic.

Notice how Myanmar is mentioned as a human rights abuser, but Iran is not mentioned or not mentioned prominently. Iran executed 30,000 people in 1988 in a short span of time. Someone ought to tell the people at Foggy Bottom that Myanmar has a nuke program too.

North Korea has been a human rights abuse for 75 years. So what is it worth telling them and the world that they are? A FSO has their boss put in a commendation and a raise for them at the State Department?

what did the previous president do about this in 4 years?

All human rights presidents have gotten jack squat done. Nope that is not true.

I lived in the 3rd world as an expat, when Jimmy Carter was president. So he came to the country, where I lived and started preaching about how bad the human rights of the country were. In the American school I attended some nationals brought in newspaper clippings of a journalist, who had a closed casket funeral, because he had been worked over until death. They were incensed. These were the rich kids. However, when Jimmy started preaching they were also incensed. Jimmy Carter made US relations with the country worse. So Jimmy did get something done.

That country is pretty much on par with the US. They sell a lot of heavy equipment, steel and other things in the US, because the US is full of Democrats, who ruin the business climate. They are also a huge competitors in ag. They do not have a nuke arsenal nor as large of an army. But in all other respects living there is pretty much like living the US and more so every year.

Their human rights are on par with the US. Nothing Jimmy did when he started running his mouth change the trajectory of human rights in that country.

There are some countries where you can make a difference in human rights. It is like anything. You choose your battles. Democrats are using the human rights gig as part of their "2 minutes of hate" and for other things.

I will take Trump over Carter, Obama, Clinton or Biden. I might take him over the Bushes too.

for standing up (ha ha ha) to Russia or for his health plan? Or infrastructure? or leadership in dealing with the virus?

"Experts in the room, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, tried to temper expectations, but also offered a timeline of 12–18 months for the development of a vaccine."

Trump got it done in 9 months. He did not do the research, but he he got the contracts for distribution and the liability portion done.

I remember how gleeful Democrats were thinking the calamity was the the thing that was going to win them the white house. It did, because of fear and a lying media.

Health plan. People are still uninsured, but you made health care more expensive for working people. Good job.

"Meanwhile, in 2021 over 31 million Americans lacked health insurance coverage. "

So the Dims keep messing with stuff and making it more expensive.

Drove roads in 9 states this fall. Did not see any need to increase federal debt to fix roads that were in decent shape.

Al Qaeda/Taliban attacked the US and murdered 3,000_ people

Iraq attacked, Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Saddam might have been engaged n hyperbole and bluff bout after attacking 3 countries, threatening to annihilate a 4th, harboring multiple terrorist groups, gassed civilians in a genocidal operation (Anfal) and held up weapons inspections sometimes for days on end.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anfal_campaign

Onus was in Saddam to not imp0ede e inspections and be more diplomatic. So stop your fake BS 7:35.

You might think Trump knew what to do about the virus but his "leadership" cost him the elecdtion

Name another 'vaccine' produced in 9 months since the 60s? There is so much inertia in DC that getting a vaccine in 9 months (8 months really) is an outstanding accomplishment.
