Europe Threatens 'Massive' Sanctions If Russia Invades Ukraine

Reuters: Europe threatens 'massive' sanctions if Russia attacks Ukraine

BERLIN, Jan 20 (Reuters) - The European Union threatened "massive" economic sanctions if Moscow attacks Ukraine, and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken rallied allies on Thursday ahead of last-ditch crisis talks with Russia aimed at preventing war.

Western countries are seeking to present a united diplomatic front before Blinken meets Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Geneva on Friday, widely seen as one of the last chances to stop Russia from launching a new attack.

Blinken visited Kyiv on Wednesday and met German, French and British ministers on Thursday in Berlin.

On Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden gave his clearest indication yet that he believes a Russian attack is likely.

"My guess is he will move in," Biden said of Russian President Vladimir Putin. "He has to do something."

Europe is a joke. If Russia invade Ukraine Europe will find million of reasons for doing nothing. Germany is already blocking weapons for Ukraine and France want Europe have to have its own way...

Not getting into a war in the backyard of a nuclear superpower is reason enough. If some hawks in Washington think it's a good idea let them have it. Even without mentioning nukes, there's not a chance European NATO members can conduct a large military campaign in Ukraine

Russia has been in America's backyard since 1960. They eased up due to bankruptcy of mother russia or the client countries, but that is the sole reason.

Of course that's hyper nice to be against the war, but when the war want you that's make the things worse.
For whom who have no memory, WWII would never happen if "the nice British Chamberlain et French Daladier" had the balls to oppose Hitler in 1938 in Munich. The same Hitler said in 1940 that he was not ready in 1938.
Thanks the "angels" you don't want a war but you will have it anyway and worse than now.
