Ukraine President Zelensky Disagrees With Ukraine, U.S., And U.K. Intelligence Assessments That Russia Is Going To Invade. Is He Wrong?

Washington Post: U.S. and allies debate the intelligence on how quickly Putin will order an invasion of Ukraine — or whether he will at all

As Russia masses tens of thousands of troops on its border with Ukraine, along with tanks, artillery and missiles capable of striking the capital, officials in Washington, Kyiv and across Europe are debating the likelihood and timing of an invasion.

In one camp, officials in Washington, London and within Ukraine’s national security establishment are convinced that a Russian strike is imminent. But Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is not persuaded that the intelligence Western nations have shown him backs up their dire assessments.

Somewhere in the middle, U.S. allies including France, Germany and Norway think Russia could strike but remain unsure of the timing and whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept some kind of diplomatic compromise that he can sell as a NATO retreat.

Strangely enough, I agree with France and Germany on this one. As for Zelensky's assessment, not sure where he's getting his info. Largest build-up since the Cold War (or maybe since WWII?) and he's splitting hairs re imminent vs non-imminent? As if whether Russia attacks tomorrow or in 3 months makes a huge difference. Either way, you're toast dude. No problem with trying to negotiate, but at some point you have to at least acknowledge appearances. And by all appearances, the news isn't good.

I suppose Zelensky wants to avoid FORCING Putin's hand (which the US and UK is kinda doing). I can at least see the point of that.

The US leadership class could try a coup. It's been successful before. It's even been used domestically against duly elected president Trump

Many are catching on to this so I think the coup has passed it's "sell by date." I expect the US leadership class to turn against Zelensky before the end of the week. I also expect his countrymen and women to rally around him as he takes steps to defuse this situation. I expect the Europeans will as well.

Also, after numerous fruitless foreign operations that didn't advance our interests, undermined them, and resulted of thousands of our people dead or maimed for life we are virulently anti war and will punish any leader who tries to take us into needless wars.

As badly as these people want their war with Russia, it's not going to happen!! We won't allow them to take us down this path again!!

Biden and his team has entered the hallowed grounds of an international joke.
He is a bungler made a fool of by his chief ally’s and adversaries. All take part in taking his team apart.

The way this ends is with the Europeans excluding the bunglers. Russia won’t invade, they get secret agreements that France and Germany will block Ukraine in NATO, Germany approves NS2 and the end to sanctions by Germany and France.

Hard to make a prediction with our current President. Worse, he can change opinion, goal, order again and again.

B Poster doth protest so much about how busy he is as an accountant at tax time, but the troll sees how important the topic is for Russia so here he is now, 24/7 trolling away.

When Russia is involved you get the B Poster troll.

When Biden or a prominent Democrat s involved you get the Fred troll.

Maybe the US stages an incident that triggers a fight between Russia and Ukraine.

Time for “regime change”

Could it be that Zelensky is about to invite the Russians in?

My time is limited to post here. Obviously I'm not posting 24/7 here.

Now having nothing to contribute here you insult me and others. This strategy is often employed by our leadership class to try and discredit those they disagree with when their arguments lack merit. People are caching on to this and few trust them so this approach has less and less utility

My analysis suggesting our leadership class will turn on a dime against Zelensky is likeky spot on. They've done in the past. They've also tried coups in the past. They're becoming ridiculously predictable.

Anyone actually paying attention will also recognize my analysis concerning the current anti war mature of the American people is spot on. Those who primarily rely on ideology and wishful thinking in their analysis are going to miss important developments.
