NBC: FBI Director Wray says scale of Chinese spying in the U.S. 'blew me away'
The FBI opens a new China-related counterintelligence investigation every 12 hours on average, and it now has over 2,000 such cases.
Chinese spying in the U.S. has become so widespread that the FBI is launching an average of two counterintelligence investigations a day to counter the onslaught, FBI Director Christopher Wray said in an interview.
Wray has become the U.S. government’s most outspoken critic of the Chinese government’s spying.
In an exclusive NBC News interview, he said the sheer scale of Chinese efforts to steal U.S. technology shocked him when he became FBI director in 2017.
“This one blew me away. And I’m not the kind of guy that uses words like ‘blown away’ easily," he said.
Wray said the FBI is opening a new China related counter-intelligence investigation on average every 12 hours, with over 2,000 such cases currently underway.

Chinese Espionage is not the Most Damaging. The corruption of Joe Biden and the Democrat Party is.
Uh oh. Wray is off-narrative. It's Russia! Russia! Russia!
Everyone just enjoy the Olympics and shut up.
Bullshit. This level of espionage didn't happen overnight, nor did it happen by accident. Rather, it all happened accidentally on purpose, with the knowledge and aid of hundreds of government officials--not unlike our leaky southern border. No doubt we'll soon see several crack downs on many Chinese residents, followed by hundreds of deportations back to China. No, not so much. First we'll need multiple investigations (closed to the public), where the right questions are never asked and nobody important is held to account. Then there will be even more invesigations, most of which will be dismissed as politcally motivated, followed by still more of meetings with various department and agency heads. Again, no real answers, other than "we're looking into it." Finally, someday, the axe will fall and a handful of bureaurocrats will receive wrist slaps before being transferred to other positions of responsibility. Of course, everybody will be very shocked at how this could have happened right under our noses. Then the story will die in the media until it becomes "yesterday's news" just in time for the midterm elections.
Biden; "they're not bad folks. folks"
"huh, whats my name?"
Hunter Biden; " its my birthday, its my birthday, pass the pipe ho"
Friendly reminder that this agency will label you a domestic terrorist for attending PTA meetings at your kid's school and assign agents on a 1-to-1 basis to monitor and influence your wrongthink about transgender 9 year olds. But yeah, they're really swamped with all the real espionage going on.
