Trump (JULY 11, 2018):
“When Germany makes a massive oil and gas deal with Russia. We’re supposed to be guarding against Russia and Germany goes out and pays billions and billions of dollars a year to Russia.
We’re protecting Germany, we’re protecting France, we’re protecting all of these countries. And then numerous of the countries go out and make a pipeline deal with Russia where they’re paying billions of dollars into the coffers of Russia.
So we’re supposed to protect you against Russia and you pay billions of dollars to Russia and I think that’s very inappropriate.
Germany will have almost 70 percent of their country controlled by Russia with natural gas. You tell me, is that appropriate?
Germany is totally controlled by Russia, cause they are getting 60 to 70 percent of their energy from Russia and a new pipeline.
I think these countries have to step it up, not over a 10 year period, they have to step it up immediately. Germany is a rich country, they talk about increasing it a tiny bit by 2030. Well they could increase it immediately, tomorrow, and have no problem.
If you look at it, Germany is a captive of Russia. They got rid of their coal plants, they got rid of their nuclear, they’re getting so much of their oil and gas from Russia. I think it is something NATO has to look at. It is very inappropriate."

Putin's 'Special Operation' Makes It Clear That NATO, Rather Than Donetsk, Is The Issue
I find these kind of statements absolutely laughable.
'wrong side of history' is just a moral proclamation against those one hates. I've had enough of ideologues using such phrase against me others like me that I'm disgusted with the G7 for using it.
're-introducing war to Europe' everything I know about history, Europe is just returning to its natural state.
"I find these kind of statements absolutely laughable."
Catholic Dragoon is right.
"Ever heard someone refer to a certain view as being on the “wrong side of history”? It is an increasingly common expression. And I find it particularly annoying, because it is typically used as a way of challenging, if not completely dismissing, the view in question, while the speaker or writer offers nothing in the way of an argument or evidential support for doing so."
Biden borrowed it from Obama , a lazy intellect. Biden himself has almost no intellect any more.
Putin just took Ukraine, the bread basket of Europe. It is similar to the Persians taking Egypt from the Romans. They did. It left Rome virtually powerless. Rome took it back at great cost and then a third power arose wiped out the Persians and eventually wiped out the Romans.
This an object lesson in why you do not let people take things in the first place. That lesson is lost on Joe, his NSC staff, 3:51 and other bad actors.
sorry but I think you are wrong
That statement more often than not made by those who know their history and where an action is taking a group or nation. Do you think, then, that Putin's invasion is an ok thing? Or how do you
think this major move to invade a nation fits your views?
First let's get some housekeeping out of the way. You are not trying to persuade. You are trying to irritate and obfuscate. What is with the missing punctuation and capitalization among other errors?
"That statement more often than not made ..."
Assertion without proof.
Look up a Slate article on Obama's overuse of the phrase. Obama used, abused and misused that phrase over and over. Is Obama smart? If he were why is not his GPA and academic records open for inspection? In over 30 years of public life Obama's education has not withstood the scrutiny of daylight. His records are still hidden.
Face it, often the wrong side of history is nothing more than an ad populum argument, which some of us know is a logical fallacy.
The invasion started under Obama. Obama did nothing effective.
Joe showed how weak he was. He negotiated from a position of weakness. He stopped delivery of lethal weapons to Ukraine in June 2021. Couple that with the Afghanistan debacle and Putin right there made his decision to invade.
Machiavelli believed in the vote. Then one day he realized the consequence of getting in bed with stupid people like you. Like Benjamin Franklin reasoned. A republic can work, but only if you are smart. You 5:05 are anything but smart.
Putin did not reintroduce war for the first time in 70 years? Did they forget about Yugoslavia?
