Is A Second US Civil War Possible?

Christopher England, 19FortyFive: Why A Second US Civil War Would Be Far Worse Than the First

Why a US Civil War could be even more disastrous than the first: When NPR beings to weigh in, it is safe to say that talk of a second American Civil War has officially gone mainstream. Shockingly, however, given the gravity of the topic, much of the current, rancorous debate appears to underestimate the long-term damage that would ensue following a second Civil War. It is therefore crucial that we clarify the reasons why a new Civil War could lead to a far more enduring disaster, for America and the world, than the War Between the States.

WNU Editor: I am not an American, but I do not see the elements within the U.S. for a civil war to break out .

I have experienced in my lifetime two events where civil unrest led to violence in a nation's capital and a government almost being overthrown.

The first one was China, where I witnessed the events that eventually led to the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre n 1989 (link here), and the 1993 Russian constitution crisis (link here) where I was present and where I witnessed tanks shelling the Russian legislative building.

Before both events happened it was clear to me that violence was going to be the outcome, and the only question that was left unanswered was how long will it last, and will it spread. In both cases they ended quickly.

With this first hand experience I can say with a certain degree of confidence that the U.S. is still far away from experiencing that type of violence. But that does not mean that it is impossible. After-all, polls like this one tell me that the fine line between peace and political violence is always a fine line .... 34% of Americans say violence against government is sometimes justified, new poll finds (CNN).

All it takes is for one side to want it enough.

Sure it could happen. Anytime a country is taken over by totalitarian forces, a revolt is inevitable. The USA isn’t there yet but it is heading towards dictatorship. Let’s see, a coup against President Trump, a lawful president, by leftist totalitarians was attempted.
A Presidential election was corrupted by totalitarian forces, many believe Joe Biden didn’t win.
Deep state persecuting mostly peaceful protesters against what they believe was a unlawful winner in Joe Biden.

The seeds have been planted.

"I witnessed tanks shelling the Russian legislative building."

Really, that is it? Tanks shelling buildings?! 1/6 was worse than 911 or Pearl Harbor. The meda told us so/

Jeez Louise!

WNU, you weren’t even in China in 1989 so don’t pretend you are an expert in that event.

If the Democrats change local election rules & procedures to ensure that the Democrats win every election & commit voter fraud then people who wish to vote Republican will find that their votes are worthless. Democracy will be over. Then if anyone wants to change the public official, they'll only be able to do so by the barrel of a gun. Keep ducking 🙈

War is never good, but there is one good thing that would come from another US Civil War--the elimination of all Democrats from the face of this planet. Why is this a good thing? Democrats are ruining this nation and the only solution is to send them all away.
