NBC: Navigating Ukraine, Biden offers frank assessments of unfamiliar allies in private
Biden has riffed about some of his counterparts involved in coordinating a response to Russian aggression, according to people who have heard him use the descriptions.
WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden has for months grappled with differences within the Western alliance while navigating one of the trickiest foreign policy challenges to emerge since he took office: Russia’s threat to invade Ukraine.
While administration officials and outside experts say the U.S. and its allies are more closely aligned now than even just weeks ago, Biden has riffed during private meetings about some of his counterparts involved in this crisis, according to people who have heard him use the descriptions in closed-door sessions.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is no Angela Merkel, Biden has said, according to the sources. He’s described British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s demeanor as blustery, they said. And French President Emmanuel Macron, Biden has said, wants to be Charles de Gaulle, the sources said.
As for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Biden has described him as "a guy with nukes and no friends," according to people who’ve heard him use the description.

I left out Sarkozy, because a good Obama man would not like him. I also left out the chandelier swinger who trades women like cars.
Biden is just now learning this about his interlocutors? Scholz is a old time leftist with roots to the old Stasi East German communists. Macron is sticking to long held Gaullist foreign policy.
What is different is the USA is failing under the pressures of awful leadership, huge debt and China military advantages.
The Euros have never liked us or at least not in a very long time to the best I can tell. In fact, many and perhaps most of them would probably celebrate if harm were to befall us. In and of itself, insulting such people isn't a problem.
Of course any POTUS should know anything he/she says is obviously going to picked up and probably "leaked." It's also important to have a clear vision of what one wishes to accomplish and to know one's audience in order to convince them to assist.
Clearly insulting the Euros at this juncture is not going to persuade them to direct their inner toughness in a way that might assist America. Furthermore Biden was the man they wanted. Now they're likely to feel betrayed making them less likely to want to assist. It seems clear that team Biden didn't and probably still doesn't understand their audience. Without such rudimentary understanding it's going to be virtually impossible to recruit any kind of assistance.
When former president Trump allegedly made a very reasonable request to the Ukrainian government to properly investigate the corrupt Hunter Biden deals, many in the US leadership class acted hysterically. Some reports indicate Mitt Romney associates have similar arrangements.
This seems to be why they want to go to war. These business interests and these people need to be protected. Being found out would be catastrophic for them, their families, and perhaps the US leadership class as a whole. In these circumstances to them this fight is perhaps worth dying for. Since we're viewed of lesser forms of life to them, sacrificing us in this cause likely wouldn't be a problem for them. As for the rest of us, we aren't interested in sacrificing our loved for their corrupt dealings that run contrary to our interests. I don't see the Euros going along with this either.
We have to be honest with Biden: he has a huge and unique talent for making things bad at the beginning and worse and worse time to time.

I always wonder what these world leaders think after spending hours with Biden. The guy shit his pants when visiting the pope. He clearly has no idea of where he is at times. Ever since I was a kid in high school in the 80's Biden was a cocky boob, and would do anything to be president....at the expense of America. He is finally president, and has no idea he did it. Karma at its best.
