Radio Free Europe: Thousands Of Russian Intellectuals, Activists Urge Kremlin To Avoid 'Immoral' War With Ukraine

More than 2,000 Russian intellectuals, including prominent rights activists, have urged the Kremlin to avoid starting an "immoral, irresponsible, and criminal" war against Ukraine amid global concerns that Moscow may be on the verge of launching a wide-scale invasion of its western neighbor.

A statement from the Congress of Russian Intellectuals was made public over the weekend as Russia continued its buildup of troops -- now estimated at well over 100,000 -- near the Ukrainian border.

WNU Editor: Among my family, friends, and contacts in Russia there is no one who wants a war with Ukraine. Unfortunately , the one who is going to make that decision is Putin, and I can only hope that his close advisers and the people that he trust are counseling him to avoid this option.

Is Putin bluffing or not? Putin is smart enough to see that the 100,000 troop on the border in Ukraine didn't deter the west. He knows that continuing to bring more weapons and troop will not change the effect. In this case why he is doing it? War is more likely.

the buildup deterred Ukraine from attacking Donetsk/Luhansk, they had their own troop buildup which is of course not mentioned in western media

Caecus,

So philosophically, if you had been around back in the day, you would have opposed Abraham Lincoln called for 75,000 volunteers?

"Abraham Lincoln, called for a 75,000-man militia to serve for three months following the bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter."

The USSR set those borders in the 1950s. Russia agreed to those borders in the 1990s. Is the Great and Wonderful Caecus opposed to Ukraine putting down insurrection within ITS own borders?

Would the Great and Wonderful Caecus have been opposed to putting down Shays' rebellion?

Caecus does such violence to logic and the truth.

Are y'all not amused!
