President Zelensky does not pull any punches.
He is critical of NATO for not supporting their entry into the alliance, and to not provide more assistance in their hour of need.
He says NATO is afraid, and that Ukraine is alone in this war.
He says Moscow wants to negotiate an end to the war, and their conditions are disarmament and being non-aligned.
He admits that to end this war there must be negotiations.

Looking at the above video, I get the impression that President Zelensky knows that to save his government and the destruction of Ukraine, a negotiated peace must occur. But he wants it to happen from a position of strength and is pushing the Ukraine military to make the cost of the war to high for Moscow to proceed.
If what I am reading is true, the Kremlin's conditions to end this war (the government of Ukraine's surrender) are disarmament, becoming a neutral country, some autonomy for the Russian dominated regions of Ukraine, and the recognition of the independence of Luhansk and Donetsk. Definitely a bitter pill to swallow for the Ukraine President, and one that he may be forced to take in the coming days if the military conditions on the ground continue to deteriorate.
Update #2: I had mentioned this idea to a few others before the war started, but I wondered if the Kremlin's real goal was to push Ukraine into a Yugoslav style conflict and solution, i.e. breaking the country into 3 regions.
A Western and central part that is Ukraine. Another region with sizeable Russian-Ukrainian populations that will have a great deal of autonomy but will still be part of the Ukraine state (or not). And the independence of Luhansk and Donetsk.
Before the war started I gave this idea a 5% chance of happening.
Now I am giving it 50-50.

This has gone very badly for Russia. Not the cakewalk that WNU predicted.
From reports that many captured Russians did not know they'd be invading to elite paras getting wiped out at an airport when Ukraine retook. Multiple air assets downed and many russian tanks destroyed. Also reports that a lot of the equipment is old, Russia hasn't sent their best.
Ukraine will lose. But they will make Russia pay a high cost.
The Russian news that WNU posted is incredibly skewed with false narrative to paint Ukraine's openness to talk as concessions while painting NATO in a bad light.
I understand WNU is anti-Ukraine but posting RT news as a desirable source is laughable.
RT news director also claimed that Ukrainians may soon gas their own people, and have been flooding telegram channels telling everyone the war is necessary.
I like warnews updates, but the sources he uses and opinionates on are hilariously pro-russian. There's always been that bias sadly. It's equivalent to sourcing a global times (China) opinion on Taiwan and then forming your statement around that.
It's a bit of a sad state of free journalism to see on here.

Thought Putin's objective all along was to have the two eastern districts and Crimea officially recognized. He crossed the lines to make his point clear.

Ukraine's agreement in a peace treaty makes it internationally recognized.
The longer this operation continues, the more it has the chance for dramatic Russian casualties. There are already protests in Russia. Kyiv is a big city.

Putin has successfully brought NATO together. That was probably not his objective. This is another reason to bring this operation to a conclusion more sooner than later.

The US has 11 Army divisions. A division has 10,000 to 16,000 soldiers.

Sending 3,000 to the Baltics seems puny. The answer is it depends. Joe if he could remember details or read them off fast enough from TOTUS could have said they they are reinforcing, buttressing, leavening, bracing x number of Baltic troops, so it is not a Task Force Smith (540). He did not do it.
Is the reason why, the fact that people might ask why 3,000 troops could not reinforce 200,000 Ukrainian troops and maul the Russians or stand them down?
