The Guardian: Russia reasserts right to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine

Senior politician Dmitry Medvedev says Moscow’s nuclear doctrine does not require enemy state to use such weapons first

The Kremlin again raised the spectre of the use of nuclear weapons in the war with Ukraine as Russian forces struggled to hold a key city in the south of the country.

Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president who is deputy chairman of the country’s security council, said Moscow could strike against an enemy that only used conventional weapons while Vladimir Putin’s defence minister claimed nuclear “readiness” was a priority.

The comments on Saturday prompted Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in an appearance by video link at Qatar’s Doha Forum to warn that Moscow was a direct threat to the world.

WNU Editor: Too many top Russian officials are talking about nuclear weapons. I do not like where this is heading.

Update: Ukraine crisis is WORSE than the Cold War says Russia's former president Dmitry Medvedev as he adds that 'it is obvious' that threat of nuclear war exists (Daily Mail).

I'm more worried about our side using nukes. Hunter and other members of the leadership class need to be protected. After decades of neglect does our arsenal still work? Former president Trump said he fixed this. I hope he did!!

One of my parents had Allied bombs raining down on their city. I have an in-law that fled a city bombed by the Axis. We might go to war with that country again. Not looking forward to it, but won't shirk it either.

Biden could have put troops in Ukraine and stopped any land invasion before it began.

It is conceivable that nukes would be launched. You cannot assert that no person losing a war would not launch nukes. Hitler would.

A great first year for Biden:

$120 bbl Brent crude
Food shortages ‘gonna be real’
7% inflation
Nuclear warmongering.

The Russians think the Americans are weak under Biden. They knew under Trump, at least in their minds, he couldn't defeat them but he was VERY tough. They wanted him gone at ANY cost. This is similar calculus for China.

MAD only holds if our arsenal and the delivery systems actually work. President Trump says he fixed this. I pray he did!!

That's why Russia made a million nukes. Who knows which ones still work, and which dont.

One thing is certain. We have a sub under the artic that can wipe Russia off the map.

Did you do something as simple as an internet search before you shed real crocodile tears?

What is your problem? Low T?

This rhetoric is only a backfire from our rhetoric President. No problem as long as it stays as a rhetoric way.
