Putin met with dandy president Macron and there was a large table between them because of COVID.
A few days later Putin and met with President Jair Bolsonaro and there was no long banquet table between them.
Vaccination status and COVID variants do not change that fast.
Now Putin is back to a long table. He does not want to look his military staff in they eye or he wants to remind them who is boss. Either way, it is not good.
He’s afraid for his own safety.
I also noticed the table pictures with other leaders. The body language in this one is weird and scary. it has nothing to do with covid. He may be a rational person, but some experiences can push a person beyond their rational limits due to high stress. He clearly does not trust his closest advisors, he is distant from them. He wants to limit their influence. He does not want to hear arguments that would question or call into doubt his decisions. This might be what a man in complete control would do. It is also what a man slipping into the illness of paranoia would do.
In my opinion, Putin is now deranged and unhealthy. So the US and Russia are now led by men whose touch on reality is tenuous. One can only hope and pray that the sane ones in their midst can steer these men away from the abyss.
