American Thinker: Would Americans stay to fight for their nation the way the Ukrainians are doing? Poll shows...
An attack on the U.S. would bring out the patriotism of many Americans, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday, but a surprising number of our fellow citizens would also cut and run. Here's the Washington Times story about it:
* An attack on the U.S. homeland would bring out the fight in most Americans. according to a new poll, but a surprisingly large percentage say they'd flee.
* A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday asked Americans what they would do "if they were in the same position as Ukrainians are now: stay and fight or leave the country?"
* A majority 55% say they would "stay and fight," while 38% say they would leave the country, according to the poll.

I figure 20% to 30% are people are hard core Left. They will always vote Left despite the facts. 38% seems a little high to me, but not surprising.

Not surprising to me either. Before the Iraq war in 2003 I'd have pegged the number at 20%. As such, the current number isn't surprising.
I've always known our country has a significant "fifth column." If the leadership believes they need to commit us to a foreign military operation that's going to be difficult, they will need to account for this.
Fleeing? If homeland is attacked which airline they will take? I'm a civilian but even I am aged I always can help.
I guess they won't be able to meme and tweet their way out of that one.
Wnu editor have you spent much time here in recent years? Americans are so pampered they can't handle full scale war. In my experience most young Americans can't even mop a floor. Education here has prepared them for nothing. Nothing. Combat? Artillery barrage? Thermobarics and cluster munitions? You should see what happens when it snows in the winter. Everyone stocks up at the food store like it's the fuckin apocalypse. But God help them if that amazon delivery is late!!!

38% recognize their votes are largely superficial and the right to cast them has been so debased it's hardly worth dying for anymore.
These numbers would be way different had NAFTA and the other trade agreements not hollowed out the middle class entirely.
