Russia is behind on its timetable, but maybe not as behind as some people think. Worse Ukraine has a Falaise Gap problem potentially developing.

Russia sent in its worst troops first. The non-conscript troops will fare better it is thought. If NATO had sent in 5,000 or 10,000 troops they could have smashed the Russian offensive or dissuaded the Russians.

Going nuclear is not a problem. Nuke Schmuke.

The only thing that is concerning is Blinken opining that NATO is ready. That is cause for alarm as the man is quite daft.

If NATO had sent 5,000 troops Russia would extremely angry but will never take a chance to fight NATO. Putin himself said, much earlier, that making a war with NATO is suicidal. Sleepy Joe make a huge mistake as usual.

sleep Joe made no mistake. I had listened to Blinken and he said we will do all to avert a clash with Russia. If Russia does do anything to any NATO member we are ready to fight. Get the story right and stop foaming at the mouth.
ps: tell us what you would do about the Russian invasion: a. ignore it b. help Ukraine with sanctions and arms c.jjust badmouth Biden and the Dems.
clearly you pick C

I spot the spoor of an ignoramus. Nasty beast

(b) ?

Sleepy Joe actually halted weapons shipment in June for a time. It was a fool's gamble. The shipments were a day late and a dollar short.

The specifics of the sanction should have been public. Id they had been, Valdimir would have believed it. If they had been public the public could have held Biden to account, if he back pedaled. Knowing this, Valdimir would not believe they were a bluff.

As a Jewish proverb teaches, "when presented with two options always take the third." While the exact verbiage of the proverb could be slightly off, the meaning isn't. Frankly until now I wasn't totally sure how to make sense of this.

In light of the current situation, I've seen the map on who supports Ukraine, who supports Russia, and who the so called "neutrals" are. Right now things look VERY GOOD for Ukraine. Unfortunately for them it is RIDICULOUSLY early in this shooting war to know the outcome

Should the "neutrals" decide based upon events to break decisively against Ukraine and for Russia this "map" looks VERY DIFFERENT with much of the world's power base behind Russia. Should that happen western Europe is likely to peel off from us and beg Russia for forgiveness while throwing us under the bus!!

With this in mind option d seems to be a viable one. Do what the "neutrals" are doing. Be cautious, think things through carefully, watch to see how events on the ground shake out, and then make your decision.

This is option d and it isn't necessarily the best one. Our government has opted for option b and assuming various assumptions hold it's not necessarily a bad option. Specifically this assumes current unity among allied nations is going to hold, the neutrals will break in our favor or at least stay neutral, and the war isn't going according to Russia's plan and this will continue to be the case. Assuming the assumptions prove accurate the strategy seems sound. If the assumptions prove false this likeky ends in unmitigated disaster for us.

As with any strategy, even the best ones are for naught without good execution. Thus far the execution of b has been choppy but very good and steadily improving. I pray the assumptions it is based upon prove to be accurate!!

From the looks of it conventionally speaking Russia is ripe for the taking.
