Zelenskys lectures to Western European leaders are going to backfire on him. Eventually one of them, feeling backed into a corner and blamed for literal war crimes, says the unspeakable truth in a very public and embarrassing fashion. Some of these figures like Merkel and Sarkozy would be listened to if they choose to reply that his own government could have done more to reign in the far right militias who were allowed to bomb Donbas with impunity and use the threat of their paramilitary might to push through unpopular cultural and language laws. He would do well to remember that US and EU public relations made Zelensky, and if they decided to tomorrow they could just as easily make him into a joke or even worse a villain.
