The Hill: White House says Ukraine has shifted momentum, cautions ‘war is unpredictable’
The White House on Tuesday characterized advances by Ukrainian forces against Russia as a “shift in momentum” but cautioned that the ongoing war in Ukraine remains unpredictable.
“I think what you’re seeing is certainly a shift in momentum by the Ukrainian armed forces,” John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, told reporters at a briefing.
Counteroffensives by Ukraine in the northern and southern parts of the country have pushed back invading Russian forces, especially in the north.

WNU Editor: This was just one battle. A few thousand Ukrainian soldiers facing a smaller Russian force that retreated when faced with superior firepower to fight another day. There are many more battles to come and the U.S. government is well aware of that.
But there are still some in the US government who are taking credit for recent Ukrainian successes, even though they criticized Ukraine just a few months ago when the war was not going well (see tweet below).
Naturally the US is taking credit for Ukraine's recent victories. When the war was going badly for Ukraine 3 months ago, "sources" said it was all Ukraine's fault, not America's.
