Russian Military Now Focused On Crippling Ukraine's Power Grid

 

CNBC: Russia looks to deprive Ukrainians of water and electricity as winter approaches 

* Ukraine is dealing with the aftermath of missile attacks with power and water supplies still damaged in many locations after critical infrastructure was targeted by Russia. 

* Russia appears to be ramping up its targeting of Ukraine’s energy facilities and systems with a series of missile attacks this week singling out such infrastructure and leaving thousands of Ukrainians without water and power. 

Ukraine has been dealing with a spate of Russian missile attacks on its energy infrastructure this week, causing the widespread loss of water and power supplies, damaging its communications network and prompting blackouts in cities across the country. 

They affected hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and there are concerns that such attacks, and the likelihood of Russia continuing to target critical infrastructure, leaves civilians very vulnerable as winter approaches.

WNU Editor: Half of Ukraine's rail system is electrified, and everyone knows the Ukraine military is using the rail links to transport their troops and materials. For the past few months Russian military bloggers have been complaining nonstop that they cannot understand why the military has avoided these targets.

It looks like the order was given this week by the new overall Russian commander to take apart this infrastructure What is even more worrying for Ukraine is that it looks like they do not have the means to stop these Russian strikes. Hence the rush by the West to send anti-air weapons systems ASAP.
