Washington Post: Ethiopian government, Tigrayan forces agree to truce after two years of war
NAIROBI — The Ethiopian government and Tigrayan forces formally signed a truce Wednesday, the most significant breakthrough after two years of devastating war that threatened to tear apart Africa’s second-most-populous country.
“Both parties in the Ethiopian conflict have formally agreed to the cessation of hostilities as well as to systematic, orderly, smooth and coordinated disarmament, restoration of law and order, restoration of services, unhindered access to humanitarian supplies [and] protection of civilians,” said Olusegun Obasanjo, the African Union’s high representative for the Horn of Africa.

WNU Editor: For the past few months the Ethiopian government has been making the claim that they were winning the war. I do not know if this is true, but it was enough to force Tigray to the negotiating table and to agree to a ceasefire to end the war.

What I find upsetting about the two accompanying photos are the smiles on the suited clowns behind all the death and destruction.
Where would the crippled, dead, and surviving be without them?
I am shocked that someone actually commented on a story about Africa.
