German Gas Giant Uniper Seeks Billions Of Euros In Compensation From Russia's Gazprom

Reuters: Uniper seeks billions of euros in compensation from Gazprom

DUESSELDORF — German utility Uniper has launched an arbitration process in the hope of securing billions of euros in compensation from Russia’s Gazprom over undelivered gas volumes, Uniper CEO Klaus-Dieter Maubach said on Wednesday.

Gazprom’s export arm denied it was in breach of contract regarding gas supplies to Uniper and said it did not accept the legality of the company’s claims.

Uniper, which is in the process of being nationalized in a state bailout to survive the energy crisis triggered by the Ukraine war, puts the cost of replacing Russian gas at around 11.6 billion euros ($12.02 billion) to date.

WNU Editor: Germany has nationalized Gazprom's assets worth billions without compensation. And now Germany's gas giant Uniper is suing Russia's Gazprom for failure to deliver gas because because they do not want gas delivered through the Nord Stream 2 lone pipeline that was not destroyed in an attack over two months ago.

There is some stuff that you just cannot make up.

Not Surprising. Gazprom has told Uniper to take a hike .... Gazprom rejects Uniper's claims for billions in compensation over undelivered gas (Reuters).

The world is dealing with crazy people. No joke.

These people are college graduates from the most prestigious school for Christ's sake.

Come one man, just let these people order us around and make utopia happen.

The sooner we eat bugs the better.

I do believe these people are crazy. they ask for things they cannot realistically get and to what the are not legally or morally entitled to. They think they are and that has to be because of their scholastic upbringing,

The particular ingrates do not have access to nukes, otherwise I would say be afraid, be very, very afraid.

40 billion in losses because sanctions won't let them send payments to Russia. When this fails to substantiate any results does Uniper just sit down and eat shit, or does it go after the litigators who are actually responsible for it's destruction? Maybe kick a few of them out of office? Likely not.

It's probably illegal for a German company to try and influence a politician. Such activity is the exclusive domain of foreign companies.

1) The government nationalized; Uniper did not. While that affects Uniper's business, it was not the one acting. Did Uniper receive the proceeds of said nationalization? That matters if not legally then otherwise.

2) Maybe Uniper has a point. They know, if they continue to get gas through Nordstream, someone will blow it up. They do not want to be responsible. If they wait until, the war is over to request gas thru Nordsteam pipeline there is a chance that the pipeline might survive. That might be their thinking.

Other pipelines might have capacity to pick up the slack.

3) "Such activity is the exclusive domain of foreign companies." That has to be an ignorant or gratuitous comment.

Odds are that every company in every country engages in some type of influencing of legislators. Do we have to get down to brass tacks and show examples of this happening before the trolling stops?

It is sarcasm because the German government is occupied and controlled by foreign interests.
