Washington Examiner: Netherlands to buy out and close 3,000 farms to meet climate goals
The Dutch government is planning to buy out and close as many as 3,000 farms in the country, exacerbating an already-bitter dispute with growers as leaders attempt to halve the country’s nitrogen emissions by 2030.
Leaders said last week they plan to allocate some $25 billion to the buyout plan, which they will use to purchase between 2,000 and 3,000 Dutch farms and other large nitrogen emitters "well over" their property values.
If farmers do not agree to the plan, the buyouts could become compulsory. “There is no better offer coming,” Dutch Nitrogen Minister Christianne van der Wal told members of parliament last week.

Dutch farmers have been demonstrating and rioting for several months already about this. Including dumping manure at government offices, but here this tyrant is going forward with their edicts anyway.

Maybe they should outsource the majority of their food production to Ukraine/Russia like they have their energy policy? Those are EU rules and the Dutch are trying to meet those rules. Of course there is here as elsewhere conflict between those who profit from something produced and those who would close down or diminish the item that is profitable if in so doing it betters chances for slowing down or halting climate change.
Which side are you on? that is the conflict. In the US there is the coal industry and its conflict with attempts to lessen the impact from that industry.
You might say: I want what I want now and who cares at my age about 30 years from now. Or: I need to think of my daughter's just-born child and the future of that kid.

The issue with the food production is this: Once shut off, you don't notice it at first, because we still have surplus BUT when you notice it, it is too late. It is a trap, because it takes years to bring those farms back up and produce all over again. Grow the crops takes ages, preparing the soil.
We must act now. Make the arrests. Citizen arrests if needed and where legal.
Then have public hearings.
They get a lawyer and they can bring their defence.
We will listen, and then judge.
I just predict we will hang them, because otherwise we will all be dead soon.
