Russia Continues To Attack Ukraine's Civilian Infrastructure

CNN: Zelensky accuses Moscow of energy ‘terrorism’ as Russian strikes knock out power for millions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of “energy terrorism” after Moscow’s repeated attacks on key infrastructure knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of people.

About 450,000 households across Kyiv were without electricity on Friday as power outages across the country continue, according to the city’s mayor Vitalii Klitschko.

“It is one and a half times more than the recent days,” Klitschko said on Telegram.

Across the country, about 4.5 million consumers were temporarily disconnected from the power supply on Thursday under emergency and stabilization schedules, according to Zelensky.

Update #2: Rolling blackouts introduced in seven regions of Ukraine -- Ukrinform

WNU Editor: The information that I am getting is that the blackouts are impacting far more Ukrainians than the 4.5 million the Ukraine government is claiming. And what is worse is that even if the war should end today, I have been told it will take months and massive involvement and aid from the West to restore it.

The purpose of these attacks is clear. To not only destroy what remains of Ukraine's economy, but to cripple the train system that relies on electricity to ship and move Ukrainian military forces.

I do not know what impact this will have on the Ukraine military, but I do know the impact that it is having on Ukraine's economy. These attacks are succeeding. The economy is slowly imploding, and for the average Ukrainian they are now facing inflation rates and scarcity of goods like never before.

For Western leaders they now have some hard decisions to make. To provide tens of billions in more aid to Ukraine to keep the situation at least livable for its citizens, or do nothing and expect millions of more Ukrainian refugees over the winter.

I am not waiting. I have the told the few relatives I have left in Ukraine to make plans to leave in the next few weeks and come to Montreal where I live and wait until this war is over.

Solution is simple.

Every day the Ukrainian power grid is down, the Russian power grid must be down.

An America leader, not the card board cutout in the White House, needs to look Putin in the eye in person or by vid and tell that asshole that have ante will be met and raised up to and including the the worst.

Ukraine is shooting down 140% of missiles and drones. The power stations are down for periodic maintenance

NBC News reporter Miguel Almaguer had what seemed like a scoop on Friday about an intruder’s attack last week on Paul Pelosi. The curious new details he presented on the “Today” show quickly went viral on right-wing sites and social media accounts.

One problem: Much of Almaguer’s account was inaccurate, based on flawed information provided by a source who was unnamed in the report, according to people at the network. Those people said Almaguer was incorrect when he reported that the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave police no indication he was in danger when he answered the door. In fact, San Francisco police have said that Pelosi was struggling with the intruder, David DePape, when they first saw him.

But before NBC News’ hasty removal of the video from its website — accompanied by a vague note that the story “did not meet NBC News reporting standards” — it spawned a sinister new narrative.

Yep, we can just turn off the Russians electricity. Nothing's going to happen they're weak and not the second superpower in the world. Joe Biden is the strongest leader in the world. The world is led by lizard people.

And they wanted to take the nuclear football from Trump....oh yeah, he had mean tweets. But, at least we knew where his thoughts were at all times! Unlike the senile puppet that is the leader of the free world, who has no thoughts.

Hey.... Rooskee lover, leave your rooskee rellies in Ukraine. Send Zelenski your hidden silver bullion stash...Ukraine's needs are great than yours. Better still, get yer gear on and to the trenches to fight and defend Ukraine from your orc friends and rellies.... go, go.

What is wrong with WNU's relatives going to Canada? If they are in Canada they cannot spy or be falsely accused of spying. They are probably not into the war and do not overtly support the war effort. Being gone temporarily helps in that they wont consume electricity from a grid that is having a very hard time of it.

Why not Canada? PM Justin Castro is flinging the doors wide open to immigration. PM Castro will invite in so much riff raff that WNU's relative will probably flee back across the ocean in an year or two.

Brother, Ukraine's needs are bigger than all of ours. I'm already sending 3/4 of my salary straight to Florida (I'm told Zelensky's mansion redirects all mail to Kiev) but it's not just up to me to save democracy. We all need to get used to skipping meals and make some room in the budget for our our extra interest payments. Unfortunately I'm not fit to go over and actually fight (bit overweight these days!) but there are still millions of brave Ukrainians who are proud and eager to get the job done for us.

Zelensky is one of those Chess players that doesn't resign gracefully. He is dragging Ukraine (and the West) down further than was necessary..

Lmao. Ok. Lemme guess, you're an American who thinks this can be done overnight. ALL of Russia. Without power.

Lines were broken in the 1980s. The Russians have already blackmailed hospitals, utility companies and others. So we were already at war 3 to 4 years ago. Might as well hit back. Obviously 1946 has not turned on the lights with electrical equipment.

This must be one of those democracy loving western Ukrainians we hear so much about.

I love Russian democracy. Journalists end up shot. Political opponents end up in the gulag. Do not get too comfy. Michigan governor and others have shown they not only want to imitate Putin but to outshine him.
