Ukrainian forces could be back in Crimea before the new year and Russia's invasion will be over by spring, a senior Kyiv military official has claimed.
Deputy defence minister Volodymyr Havrylov also said his country will not conduct peace talks with Russia until Putin's soldiers have exited every inch of Ukraine.
Mr Havrylov told Sky News during a visit to Britain that an unexpected 'black swan' event in Moscow, such as the toppling of Putin's regime, would harden the Ukrainian resolve and quicken the end of the war.

For the past few months British media, probably being fed information from the British government, has been pushing the narrative that Putin may be replaced .... Putin 'will announce massive new mobilisation and martial law' in desperate move that could hasten coup to dump ailing leader as first Ukraine trains arrive in liberated Kherson (Daily Mail).
I see no signs that Putin is going to be replaced. And on the off chance that I am completely wrong, the person or group that will replace him are, IMHO, far more hardcore thatn Putin is in conducting this war.

Russia is pulling out troops form Kherson Unless the plan on some sort of Mannstein riposte, the rest of Kherson will fall to the Ukrainians. All I see is severe battlefield shaping by the Ukrainians ahead of a breakout. Russians are dying in huge numbers in the far reaches of Kherson from artillery strikes. They are dying and the former, retired diplomat is sitting warm and toasty in Canada. It is a damn crying shame waste of Russians.
Prediction: All of Kherson is in Ukrainian hands by sometime in March and the Russian fleet evacuates Sevastopol.

Not a lot of optimism here. Just taking into account the long range outlook and the tyrannical momentum of economies of scale.
Russia a country with a huge land mass and a declining non-Muslim population has the economy of scale of Italy.
Ukraine is backed by The Western world.
Russia is backed by China and Iran.
Iran is in the stages of revolution.
