It says something about Russia's airdefences.

The air defenses are there. The problem is that drones can fly low to evade them. Ukraine is a big country. Russia is an even bigger country. Covering all territory with air defense systems is impossible. Ukraine has learned that lesson in the past two months. Russia is going to learn that lesson even more so in the coming months.

Knocking out one leg of the triad. Putin is not very good at cost benefit analysis. He is all back of the classroom with Obama.

Likely NATO supplied and NATO operated. Russia has a serious issue with military competence, but are also up against the most modern weapon systems and the brightest minds the west has to offer. How long before North Korea comes in to help out?

Hopefully, they got the roots of the wings.

Whilst true 11.13 remains valid. This airbase would have point air defence and most likely CIWS and multiple Pantsir systems, they failed miserably.
