Former US Defense Secretary Mark Esper Says Taiwan Is “Not Prepared Enough” For A Potential Chinese Invasion

The Hill: Esper: Taiwan ‘not prepared enough’ for conflict with China  

Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper says Taiwan is “not prepared enough” for a potential Chinese invasion, though he is optimistic the island will get to that point. 

Esper, who traveled to Taiwan in July, said this week he met with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen and “outlined a number of things that I thought they needed to do,” including dramatically increasing the island’s defense budget, increasing the length of conscription for at least a year and stockpiling food and weapons.

my teacher told me we had already
conquered Hawaii and absorbed them into our nation as one of the states. Even pointed to a star on the flag to show me.

If you were some low to middle income young American male, what benefit do you get for going to war for the Taiwanese? They are another Ukraine waiting to happen, but with US blood on the ground. I don't think that it's worth it to defend them
