In A Phone Call With The US Secretary Of State China’s Foreign Minister Warns US Not To Cross Beijing's ‘Red Line’

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi (left) and US Secretary of State Blinken.

Global Times: Wang Yi urges US to stop ‘containing China while calling for dialogue’ in phone call with Blinken

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday, during which Wang called on the US to stop its old tricks of unilateral bullying and containing China's development.

Analysts said that the US needs to strengthen the credibility of its China policy, control the negative factors and actively maintain the trend of positive cooperation brought by the latest meeting between the heads of state, which is in line with the interests of both China and the US as well as the rest of the world. Wang told Blinken in the phone call that the two countries should focus on turning the consensus reached by the top leaders into tangible policies and actions.

And of course they will ignore all warnings. The "US" acts like they have some magic supersecret defense system that makes them immune from nukes. Or are they just bullying everything with the hopes nobody will press the button?

Hans,

So what China is doing to Taiwan, Japan, The Phillipines, Vietnam and others is not bullying?

What planet do you live on?

At best your analysis here is incomplete and may be disingenuous. As to who is the bully and whose being bullied is a matter of perspective and isn't as simple as you try to make it here.

From the perspective of the US leadership class they are simply doing everything they know how to do to protect their/our allies and their/our interats. Due to the lack of protesting of these policies on the part of these "allies" strongly suggests that they are fully on board with and supportive of these policies. No US foreign policy of any significance is eve4 going to happen without the support of these "allies."

I worry about our leadership class being manipulated into actions that are contrary to our Interests by these "allies." As pur leadership class often acts solely based upon ideology makes them likely candidates to be easily manipulated.

I agree about the "super secret magic defense system." The extreme hubris of our leadership class leads to a strong tendency to both wildly overestimate our own capabilities while wildly underestimating those of adversaries and potential adversaries. Obviously unless changed thar can't end well. God help us all!!

There is Captain Obvious and there there is people, who refute the obvious for sinister reasons.

What should we call you? Captain Sinistre? Captain Poster? Beijing Bad Boy? Referral?

"Beijing bad boy," I believe the current policy plays into China's hands. For the US to impale themselves on Russia in Ukraine works fine for them.

Perhaps you shouid carefully study the rest of the post. Hubris doesn't have a good ending.

"I wonder which user is CIA here?" You perhaps?? After all you brought it up and you have been in slavish support of US foreign policy.

Thou doest protest much. Maybe it's you. Maybe not.

I'm extremely skeptical of those who slavishly support our policy in Ukraine and those who worship Zelensky viciously attacking those who would dare to express skepticism of this position.

As I've explained elsewhere, the unnecessary and, at best, stupid US war against Russia in Ukraine drains necessary and precious resources. If we need to confront China and I think we do as did former president Trump, we're going to need capable allies and Russia has its own mid to long-term challenges with China regarding territory and other issues. We would be in a much better position to successfully confront China either with active support from Russia or at least not having them ad adversaries.

The Ukraine war works to China's benefit do as a legitimate critique your "Beijing poster" one loner makes no sense.

Such one liners aren't solid analysis even though they are consistent with how our/US leadership class operates. Detailed analysis and serious thought is substituted for ideology and their followers act to try and discredit critiques as opposed to try and formulate policies that are worthy of serious people that can actually work.
