Abuja — Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari says the war between Russia and Ukraine is allowing arms and fighters to stream into the Lake Chad region, bolstering the strength of terrorist groups.

The Nigerian leader spoke Tuesday in Abuja to a summit of heads of state from the Lake Chad Basin Commission, or LCBC. Buhari called for more vigilance and cooperation among the commission’s six member nations against the increased proliferation of weapons into the Lake Chad basin.

He said weapons meant for the Ukraine war and to combat terrorism in the Sahel are being diverted to West Africa and ending up in the hands of terrorist groups.

WNU Editor: This is a serious accusation from the Nigerian President. But I am not surprised. There is really no control of the weapons being flooded into Ukraine right now. The temptation for some in Ukraine to make money by shipping weapons elsewhere must be overwhelming.

WNU the schadenfreude

If I were an enterprising KGB/FSB officer, I would take captured weapons and sell them on the black market.

Does anyone remember last spring when WNU was beating his chest and crowing that many of those antitank wonder weapons were captured by the Russians? I do.

One thing that makes me think that Biden might not support Ukraine is that he is talking about Haiti. The boy needs a triumph.

In making the decision to send billions of dollars of weapons and equipment into Ukraine, the Biden administration factored in the risk that some of the shipments may ultimately end up in unexpected places, a defense official said.

But right now, the official said, the administration views a failure to adequately arm Ukraine as a greater risk.

At a classified brief about 25years ago, one tkae way was not to be dismissive of the Russians. It was related the fuckheads had parity in all areas except logistics.

So technically Russian weapons are as advanced as American weapons and Russian weapons are all over the world. so why cry if American weapons are found in Africa?

That I strongly did not agree with your comment.

American weapons are way too far more advanced than Russian weapons.
