Marine Times: Why the Marine Corps may nix gender identifiers for drill instructors
A new academic report on efforts to integrate Marine Corps boot camp recommends dropping gender-specific salutations for drill instructors, but service leaders are not convinced they want to take that step.
The lengthy report, commissioned by the Corps from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020 and completed in 2022, points out that half of the military services already have done away with gendered identifiers for training staff.
“The Army, Navy, and Coast Guard effectively de-emphasize gender in an integrated environment,” the report states. “Instead of saying ‘ma’am’ or ‘sir,’ recruits in these Services refer to their drill instructors using their ranks or roles followed by their last names. Gendered identifiers prime recruits to think about or visually search for a drill instructor’s gender first, before their rank or role.”

I watched the documentary "When Siberia Will Be Chinese". People like Putin want Vladivostok and environs to remain Russian. To that end he offered up 1 free acre to anyone, who wants to live there. Very generous of him. Forty acres and a mule would have been better or maybe 200 to 2,0000 acres if they wanted to farm.
Offering 1 acre makes Putin seem like a greedy skinflint. He has that huge mansion in Sochi and he is only offering up 1 acre in Siberia. That is greed, indifference, obtuseness or something on Putin's part. Putin cares about the Russian people?
There are problems with offering more land than an acre. People could not have the means to develop said acre and they get bought about by someone with money, who becomes another oligarch.
Still Putin's offer seems like a poorly though out half measure.

Only thing that has not changed for Marines is their formal uniforms.
most if not all things change over time.
Once only males could be in our military. Once Blacks were in the military but segregated. Once no V.A. Hospitals. Once, no airplanes etc etc
WE won wars. We prayed. Bell labs and american industry were recognized as the best in the world.
You could go downtown and not get harassed or mugged.
Boy scouts were not infiltrated by weirdos. Military still got 50% retirement. San Francisco was a decent place to take your kids on vacation.
