China's Hospitals And Crematoriums Are Being Overwhelmed Because Of Covid

Bloomberg: Bodies Pile Up in China as Covid Surge Overwhelms Crematoriums

(Bloomberg) -- For five days the elderly Chinese lady’s corpse lay decomposing in the Shanghai house she shared with her family before a hearse finally arrived to take away her remains.

“We’re lucky it’s the cold winter time,” a relative said last week at Shanghai’s Longhua Funeral Home, recounting the ordeal as the family waited their turn to say goodbye along with roughly 300 other masked mourners, many of whom asked not to be identified discussing sensitive issues.

While the octogenarian woman didn’t die of Covid-19, the explosion of cases across China is overwhelming crematoriums, making it hard for anyone to find an open slot.

Just out of curiosity--What the heck is going on over there?
I'm serious. Is it a monster strain?

China needs to cut smog and make cities walkable. That right there would be a 2-fer or a 3-fer. That would help life expectancy.

Crime is not making Chinese cities unwalkable unlike American cities.

The Chinese government needs to crack down on local or regional officials, who flout the law and do not use scrubbers on their coal plants. Compliance is only 10% to 20%.

Before asking why so many Chinese are dying, it should be first asked how resilient was the population to insult before flue season due to diet, exercise, age etc. Give a resilience rating for each segment of the population and then recompute.

Doctors have a very simple, cheap and fast test to diagnose if an elderly person is going to die within a years time.

For those under 65, I think COVID is an issue if there is obesity, poor diet or lack of exercise. That is Captain Obvious stuff, but the legacy media and politicians keep fear mongering. In America politicians are to blame for excess deaths because cities are not walkable.

Another factor would be population density. the severity of an infection is linked to how large of a does of corona or any virus you first get hit with. In a crowded situation you obvious could get hit multiple times a day. I don't think mask will help much.

70% of Shanghai has COVID. Herd immunity does not exist, but it will after the next few months.
