The Hill: Biden says Putin looking for ‘oxygen’ with 36-hour cease-fire
President Biden said Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s call for a temporary, Christmas cease-fire is an effort to “find some oxygen,” dismissing that the Kremlin is serious about finding an off ramp for its assault against Ukraine.
The president said he was “reluctant to respond to anything Putin says,” but characterized the Kremlin as cynically attacking civilians over the December holidays.

The Head of the Church in Russia of course sides with Putin. Orthodox in nations usually do, ie Nazi Germany, Franco's Spain, and Mussolini's Italy.
But of course, here at this site, we must dump on Biden: If Biden ignored, Russians would blame the US. If Biden said No, Russians would blame us.
Putin looking for a way out. Wants to seem reasonable and a nice peaceful guy. And needs a time-out from his many losses.
Does Putin really care about Ukraine people?
A Christmas truce is not surprising. It is old world thinking. A throwback to earlier times. The Russian Patriarch asked for this. He is a true leader. I do not see the pope supporting this and as a disappointed Catholic of many years, I am not surprised.
The elites of the West and their Ukraine souless elite allies will see nothing but bad in this truce
Because their hearts are full of evil. Supporters of perversion and pedophilia. They delight in evil and demand the celebration of evil acts. Of course they will look at any good deed and try to demonize it. That is their nature.
Our prayers should be with the common ukrainian and russian that they find peace and contentment in such dire circumstances.
